CHAPTER 2 Managing Oracle Applications Security T his chapter explains how to secure access to the data and functionality within your Oracle Applications. The key element in Oracle Applications security is the definition of a responsibility. A responsibility defines: • Application database privileges • An application’s functionality that is accessible • The concurrent programs and reports that are available As System Administrator you define application users, and assign one or more responsibilities to each user. This chapter begins with an essay explaining security in Oracle Applications. Afterwards, major topics are explained in greater detail, along with descriptions of the forms you use to implement security in Oracle Applications.
