Please read this Warranty document carefully.
LIMITED WARRANTY: 12months OR 5,000kms - PARTS ONLY, LABOUR NOT INCLUDED unless agreed to by Motus Scooters and
Motorcycles. Motus Scooters and Motorcycles offers a 12months/5000kms limited warranty from the date of delivery of your scooter.
This Limited Warranty is for defects from the manufacturer only. Should purchaser have a part that needs replacing, they should
immediately contact the Retailer they purchased the scooter from or email us at [email protected].
Any damages that occur due to misuse or improper care of the vehicle including but not limited to exceeding the weight limit, shipping
damages, accidents, or gross misuse of normal intended operations are not covered under the warranty.
WARNINGS: Our scooters are not for use for children under 16 years old. This product is to be operated in accordance with the law.
Always wear eye protection, a helmet, and protective clothing. Never carry passengers, unless the scooter is built for two people. Be
particularly careful on difficult terrain. Never engage in stunt riding. Riding and alcohol/drugs don’t mix. Avoid excessive speed.
Remember to ride your scooter using common sense and avoiding recklessness. Note that these scooters are only made for use on
well formed paved surfaces and damage that occurs off road or because of Earthquake damaged roads or potholes is not
covered under this warranty.
RISKS INHERENT TO OPERATION: Operating a scooter involves risks and dangers involving serious bodily injury. These risks and
dangers also include but are not limited to paralysis, disability, dismemberment, and death. These inherent risks may be the result of
purchaser’s own actions or non-actions involving: themselves, others, or specific circumstances of the activity occurring, or the neglect
or negligence of themselves and or others. There may be other risks known or unknown to the purchaser. The purchaser assumes all
risks and fully assumes and accepts responsibility for events that may not be foreseeable including economic loss, social distress,
losses, costs, and damages caused as a result of person’s vehicle riding activities.
PURCHASING RESPONSIBILITIES: The purchaser understands the nature of riding motor vehicles, motorcycle and scooter riding
activities, and acknowledges that he or she is qualified to operate a scooter as purchased from Motus Scooters and Motorcycles. The
purchaser understands that they must abide by the law and be in proper physical condition to ride a scooter. If a purchaser is not
familiar with how to operate a scooter then the purchaser should seek professional training and be fully competent before riding their
scooter. The purchaser is also responsible to inspect the motor vehicle before using it to make sure that the motor vehicle is safe to use
and in riding order.
LICENSING & REGISTRATION: The purchaser is responsible to operate and responsible for the registration of the motor vehicle in
accordance with New Zealand laws and ordinances. Motus Scooters and Motorcycles will provide a Sales Invoice. The scooter has an
engraved VIN name plated on the scooter.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY COVERS THE FOLLOWING PARTS:
ENGINE: Engine long block assembly, including all internal lubricated parts. i.e. rings, pistons, pins, crankshaft and, main bearings, the
connecting rods, and rod bearings, camshaft bearings, timing chain gears, rocker arms, valve springs, valve guides, valve seats, valve
push rods, valve lifters, and oil pump. Additionally, the engine head (s), engine block and cylinder barrels will be covered if they are
solely as a result of the mechanical failure of one or more of the internal lubricated components specified above. The Cooling system
must be in good working order including cooling fans.
TRANSFER CASE: All internal lubricated parts contained within the transfer case. The transfer case itself will be covered if damage
solely as a result of the mechanical failure of one or more of the internal lubricated components contained within the transfer case.
DIFFERENTIAL: All internal lubricated parts contained within the drive axle housing case. The drive axle housing itself if damaged
solely as a result of the mechanical failure of one or more or the internal lubricated components contained the drive axle housing.
TRANSMISSION (Automatic or Standard): All internal lubricated parts contained within the transmission case. The transmission case
itself if damaged solely as a result of mechanical failure of one or more of the internal lubricated components contained within the
transmission case. The Complete hydraulic system must be flushed including integral transfer case, oil cooler, lines, and new filter(s)
installed.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING PARTS: 1. Tires. 2. All belts. 3. Brake parts. 4. All cables. 5. All
filters. 6. Spark plugs.7. Bulbs. 8. Batteries. 9. Sprockets. 10. External springs. 11. Seat and hand grips. 12. Rubber parts 13. Cracked
or scratched body panels. We offer an exception to all of these non-covered parts.
EXCEPTIONS: Within five days of taking receipt of your scooter, if any of these parts are defective or missing, we will replace them
under warranty providing that 1) Motus or their agents are contacted by emailing us at [email protected] or the retail outlet where
the scooter was purchased within the five day time period. 2. The scooter has not been ridden.
COVERAGE AND LIMITATIONS, IMPORTANT: We have professional mechanics that assemble and prepare your new scooter to
assure that it is in good working condition. We require having a professional mechanic from Motus scooters and Motorcycles or a
service agent nominated by Motus Scooters and Motorcycles to perform warranty work on your scooter. Any unauthorized repairs
carried out on the scooter will void all warranties. Subject to the limitations stated in this agreement, Motus Scooters and Motorcycles
agrees (at its discretion) to replace a covered component, if the covered component fails within the component stated warranty period
from the date of purchase, while the component is being used under the conditions and in the manner specified by its original
manufacturer.
LABOUR TO REPAIR OR REPLACE PARTS: Motus Scooters and Motorcycles does not pay for labour for the removal and
replacement of such component(s) or part(s) except at Motus Scooter and Motorcycle’s discretion.
IMPORTANT NOTES: This warranty does not include labour, wearable parts or damaged parts from accidents, or abuse. In some
cases, the parts may have to be shipped from overseas and time must be allowed for this.
ITEMS AND CONDITIONS THAT ARE SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY PROGRAM ARE:
1. Damage caused by accidents, misuse, negligence or improper vehicle operation. 2. Any modifications or alteration of any standard
specifications or equipment. 3. Damage caused by failure to perform factory recommended service maintenance. 4. Damage which
occurs as a result of improper storage. 5. Damage caused by the use of improper fuel or lubricants.
THIS AGREEMENT AND LIMITED WARRANTY IS VOID IF:
1. Motus Scooters and Motorcycles is not provided a reasonable opportunity for inspection of a covered component prior to
removal, repair or replacement of any covered component.
2. The damage to the component is caused by a non-covered component or part or by any part or component not purchased
from Motus Scooters and Motorcycles.
3. The customer fails to follow the minimum maintenance and break-in requirements suggested by the manufacturer, and/or
fails to provide proper service documents.
3(a). Minimum maintenance as per service manual (User’s Manual) or every 6 months.
4. If any repairs are carried out by anyone other than Motus scooters and Motorcycles or their nominee.
5. Correct Oils and Lubrication. The following must be used for the duration of the warranty period:
Specify type of oil accurately:
Q8 Two Stroke Engine Oil or Spectro 2T 2-Cycle Injection/premix Lubricant.
6. The customer must have their scooter service at Motus Scooters and Motorcycle or a nominated reseller of Motus products at the
first 300km and 1000km during the warranty period. The customer is still responsible to follow the User’s Manual for minimum
maintenance between services.
LIMITED WARRANTY TRANSFERABILITY:
This agreement is provided to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
No implied warranties or agreements: there are no agreements or warranties, expressed or implied including warranties of
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, other than those stated in this agreement. Motus Scooters and Motorcycles shall not
be responsible for the payment of damages other than the sums specified in this agreement and limited warranty, for incidental or
consequential loss or damage arising from injury, loss of use, loss of time, rental vehicles, profits, or income to the customer as a result
of a failure of any component or part.
Towing charges: all towing charges incurred are the responsibility of the customer.
No other agreement: there are no other agreements between the parties with regards to the components purchased except as stated in
this agreement & limited warranty.
Important: all sales are final. Motus Scooters and Motorcycles under any circumstances does not offer returns or exchanges outside
the conditions of this warranty.
At all times Motus Scooters and Motorcycles will abide by the requirements of the Fair Trading Act
