Early Intervention of vision and hearing is important
for learning and proper development of speech
and language. Treatment outcomes are much more
successful the earlier a problem is detected. Hearing
testing is done through Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE).
The units screen the hair cells in the middle ear
through a soft tone presented through a probe placed
in the ear canal. A small microphone in the probe
measures the echo that is returned from the ear. The
echo is analyzed to determine how well the inner
ear is working. Vision testing is done using the Welch
