8.3 Scales (Menu 43)
Menu 43 calibrates the bird scales.
To calibrate a scale:
1. Remove anything from the scales.
2. In the Control Menu, press 43.
3. Press Enter.
4. Select the scale to calibrate.
5. Wait at least five seconds to give the AC-2000 time to zero the scale.
6. Place a known weight of at least 100 grams on the scale.
7. Type that weight.
8. Remove the weight, and ignore the values in the display.
The scale is calibrated.
An inexpensive method of obtaining an accurate calibration weight is to weigh a grocery item at the
grocery store using their calibrated, legal for trade, scales. Then use this weight to check and calibrate
the scales.
NOTE:
Rotem recommends using a weight of more than one kilogram.
Exit Menu 43, and weigh birds. The display shows internal working values rather than actual weights
while weighing birds. The program for the scale keeps track of the number of birds on the scale, and
may show positive or negative changes in weight in the display. It will not log a reading while the birds
are moving, to prevent erroneous measurements.
8.4 Scales Factor (Menu 44)
Menu 44 configures scale calibration factor. To eliminate the need for a precise known calibration
weight, Rotem calibrates the scale platforms prior to shipment. Simply enter the calibration number
from the platform, using Menu 44.
In Menu 44 there are two columns:
• Factor: The calibration number which refers to the first and second plate (the number of A/D
readings per one Kg./lb.).
• Reference: Refers to the reference weight which is updated automatically throughout the bird
growth according to the Male Female curves which are defined in Menu 96.
NOTE:
If scale is moved from one house to another, it is required to enter in once (manually) the
current average weight of the house as the reference weight.
8.5 Feed Pulse Ratio (Menu 45)
Menu 45 calibrates the feed delivery measurement system.
To calibrate the delivery system:
1. In the Control Menu, press 45.
2. Press Enter.
3. Select a pulse based system (0), or time based system (1).
4. Enter the pounds of feed delivered per pulse or per minute.
5. Press Enter.
The feeding system is calibrated.
