Re Lac du Rocher land use permit
Bathurst Inlet Developments (1984) Ltd has a
Federal land lease and tourism license for the La du
Rocher area. It has been deemed that we also have
to keep a land use permit in place as well.
We are seeking a extension on the land use permit
as per the regulations for two years.
While we no longer hunt caribou from this camp
our company is still licensed to hunt for
wolves/wolverine and Black Bears for the area.
In addition we are licensed to have fishing tours and
other visitors at the camp.
It is not our intention to close the camp
permanently, thus we are seeking the extension to
the permit.
We have sent out letters of engagement (see
attached) and so far have heard back from the
Tlicho that they have no concerns. We have not had
feedback from the other two groups engaged to
date.
