DVB Satellite Receivers with an HDMI Port The ideal connection for flat-screen TVs HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is a new interface embodying the ideal means to connect a receiver to a flat-screen TV for optimal viewing comfort. Digital audio and video transmission allows the signal to be passed on from the receiver to the TV set without any loss in quality. The HDMI port transmits the entire bandwidth (up to 5 Gbit/s) of the digital video and audio data. HDMI ports provide the following advantages: • Transmission of digital audio and video data • No loss in quality during data transmission • HDMI works without an analogue/digital converter, guaranteeing the highest quality Depiction of Upscaling The built-in upscaler upscales the picture to the desired resolution, “processing” it for a flat-screen TV set. a) Connection: HDMI Source of image: SD-TV (PAL) Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Upscaling: On b) Connection: Scart (RGB) Source of image: SD-TV (PAL) Resolution: 720 x 576 Upscaling: Not possible on Scart a) b) S TC 15 Satellite Terrestrial Cable
