Parameters VX8_System
VX8 system handle
boardName
Name of a VX8 device
boardHandle
Pointer to storage for a device session handle
Returned Values VI_SUCCESS
The system was successfully
closed.
SSVX8_ERROR_SYSTEM_STRUCT_UNINITIALIZED
The system was uninitialized.
SSVX8_ERROR_NO_SSVX8_FOUND
The VX8 was not found in the
system structure.
Remarks The returned handle can be used to directly call I/O library routines in order to
communicate with the VX8 through its A32 slave interface.
The syntax for boardName will differ depending on whether your I/O library is SICL or
VISA. For SICL, the syntax will resemble “vxi,240”. For VISA, the syntax will
resemble “VXI0::240::INST”. Refer to the I/O library documentation for the proper
resource descriptor nomenclature.
