176-Land Cover
Question: I have a dub about the land cover,
Before defining the HRU we introduce a land cover information by means
a GIS map. But, is this information used in the modeling process? If
you do not modify the management files, the program consider No Crop
Growing in all he HRU. So the information of the GIS Land Use Map
is not been considered.
I think that only the information introduced in the .mgt files (the
Initial Land Cover, and the different operations...) are considered in
de model, in other case there is no crop. Is this correct?
Answer:
No, Swat will make some assumptions about vegetation cover
for each entered land use type, without the need to explicitly add that crop
(or other vegetation) by editing the management operations. While it may
start with "no crop growing" at the start of each year, it generally will plant
something early in the year and harvest/kill it later in the year, based on heat
units. While this may see odd for perennial vegetation (forests and some
rangelands), it seems to be the default way Swat operates.
177-Fertilizer application inputs
Question: I am trying to input fertilization application into SWAT. And set
Elemental Phosphorous application as 80 Frt_kg, but the values P_App
from output Hru were still zero, and phosphorus outputs from sub basins
didn't change. Did I miss sth. when I modified the management?
Answer:
Did you rewrite the .Mgt file after you made the fertilizer application
change? You should also check the fertilizer application rate in the
output.std file after you make the change and run the model to confirm a
change has really been made in the model.
178-Running Parasol of swat2005.exe from dos command
Question: I have run swat2005.exe from the DOS command. But I would
like to take it a step further and run the Parasol auto calibration (the files
of which are compiled within swat2005.exe) from the DOS command,
rather than from within Arc SWAT or other GIS software. Would I need
