Charging the Rechargeable Battery
The rechargeable battery needs to be charged before use. The
battery is not charged at the time of purchase.

If you are using the camera for the first time, read this section.
Insert the battery into the battery charger, making
sure that the

markings on the battery
match those on the battery charger.
• The battery label should face up.

Plug the power cable into an outlet.
• Use the battery charger (BJ-6) to recharge the battery.
• Charging starts, and the charger lamp indicates the progress, as
shown below. Once charging has finished, unplug the power
cable from the power outlet.

The battery charger terminal may be soiled or the battery
charger/battery may be faulty. (After unplugging the power
cable from the power outlet and wiping the battery charger
terminal with a dry cloth or cotton swab, plug it in again. If the
charger lamp continues to flash, it is possible that the battery
charger or battery is faulty. Unplug the power cable from the
power outlet, and remove the battery.)
• Depending on the battery level, the charging time differs.
