Whencutting,thebladesoscillatelinearly againstanunsharpenedcuttingplate.The catchingbladesareroundoffattheside topreventaccidents,andpositionedinan offsetarrangementtoreducetheriskof injury.Acuttingheadwithseveralbladesis providedforuseasagrasstrimmer.This alsooscillatesonabladedplate,producing thesamemovementasapairofscissors. Ifthebatteryseemstoemptymore quicklydespiteafullcharge,itisworn andneedstobereplaced.Onlyuse originalreplacementbatteriesavailablefromtheServiceCentre. Inanycase,keeptotheapplicable securityinstructionsandregulations aswellastheenvironmentprotection instructions. 1. Connectthechargercableplug (22)withthechargersocketon thetool(8). 2. Plugthecharger(21)intothe wallmainspoweroutlet. 3. TheLED(4)willglowredas longasthetoolisconnectedto themainspowersupply.Therecommendedchargingtimeis5-8 hours. 4. Aftertherechargingprocess iscompleted,firstunplugthe chargerfromthewalloutlet,and thenremovethechargercable plugfromthetool. Assembling the telescopic shaft Forpackagingreasons,thetelescopichandleisdeliveredintwo sections.Whenconnectedtogether, thetwosectionslockintoeach otherandcannotsubsequentlybe detached. 11 GB IE 1. Insertthetwosectionsofthe telescopicshaft(20,seesmall image)intoeachother.Ensure thatthecableisnotcaught. 2. Inserttheendofthetelescopic shaft(20)intotheopening(9) providedontherearonthe unithandle(1)untilitclicksinto place.Thepolecanbeattached in8positions(eachata45°angleoffset).Selectthesettingthat ismostsuitableforyou. 3. Adjustthelengthofthetelescopicshaft(20)toyourbodyheight usingtheheight-adjustment screw(18). 4. Theunitcannowbeswitched onandoff(16)aftermovingthe off-lockswitch(15)atthehandle (17)ofthetelescopicshaft(20). 5. Todismantle,pressthesafety button(19)andpullthetelescopicshaft(20)outoftheunit. Whenusingthetelescopicshaft(20),the unitcanonlybeswitchedonandoffat theshafthandle. Afterswitchingtheunitoff,the bladestakeashorttimetostop moving.Letthebladescome toacompletestandstill.Donot touchthemovingbladesand donottrytostopthemmoving. Injuryhazard! General working instructions Whiletrimming,takecarethat therearenoobjectssuchaswire, metalparts,stonesetc.comeinto contactwiththeblades.Thiscan leadtocuttingheaddamage.Ifthe bladesbecomeblockedbysolid objects,switchofftheunitatonce. • Operation Keeptonoiseabatementregulationsandotherby-laws. Switching on and off 12 1. Removethebladeguard (10/13)beforeswitchingtheunit on. 2. Toswitchon,movetheoff-lock switch(3)forwards.Whilekeepingtheoff-lockswitchforward, switchtheunitonattheonoff switch(2)andletgooftheofflockswitch.Theunitwillrunat itshighestspeed. 3. Inordertoswitchoff,letgoof theon/offswitch(2). • • • Checkthegrassandbushtrimmer bladesforobviousdefectssuchas loose,wornordamagedparts.Check thatthescrewsareseatedfirmlyin thebladeblock. Onlyusesharpbladestoachievea goodcuttingperformanceandpreservethebattery. Donotworktheunitsohardthatit comestoastandstill. Payattentiontotheinstructionson unitmaintenanceandcleaning. Use as a grass trimmer Assembling/RemovingtheWheels: • Tomountthewheels(5),assemblethelateralaxle(23)into thebothguidanceelements(24) attheundersideofthetooland pushitdown.Youwillhearthe GB • • • axleclickintoplaceinthecorrespondingnotchesontheleft andright-handsideofthetool. • Toremovethe wheels(5),push thewheelsapart usingyourindex fingerandthumb(clothespeg grip)andremovethewheels. SwingingtheEquipment:Pushthe catch( 6)ontheright-handsideof theblades.Youcannowtilttheblade upanddown. Pushthetooloverthegroundusing thewheels( 5).Thiswillensure thatyoukeepanevencuttingheight. Thetelescopicshaft( 20)will makeworkeasier. Grassisbestcutwhendryandnot toolong. Movetheunitforwardevenly. Thedouble-sidedcuttingheadsenablecuttinginbothdirectionsorby swingingtheunitfromsidetoside. Changing the blades Removethebattery(7)fromtheunit beforechangingtheblades(11/12). 1. Pressthetwoquick-release catches(25)onthebattery(7) andpullthebatteryoutoftheunit. 2. Pushthesafetyswitch(26)on theundersideoftheunitto„UNLOCK“andliftthebladecover (27)off. 3. Removethewholebladeunit (11/12). 4. Positionthebladeontotheunit. Makesurethefixedbladeplate (28)pointsoutwards.Therecessesonthebladefitontothe pinsintheequipmentcasing. Note:Ifthebladedrive(29)has turnedaround,turnitbyhanduntil youcanpositiontheblades(11/12). 5. Placethebladecover(27)onto theunitandmovethesafety catch(26)to„LOCK“. 6. Placethebattery(7)intotheunit again. Maintenance and Cleaning Leaveanyworknotcoveredin thismanualtoourServiceCentre.Onlyuseoriginalparts. Use as a hedge trimmer • • IE Removethebattery( 7)from theunitbeforeservicingit. Weargloveswhenhandlingthe blades( 11/12). Cleanandservicetheunitregularlyasfollows.Thisguaranteesalonglifeforyour unit: • • • Checkthecoversandguardsfordamageandcorrectposition.Ifnecessary, replace. Alwayskeeptheunitclean.Neveruse cleaningagentsorsolvents,which cancauseirreparabledamagetothe unit.Chemicalscanattacktheplastic componentsontheunit. Cleanthebladescarefullyaftereach use.Wipeitoffwithanoilyragor spraymetal-protectionsprayonthem. 13 GB IE Whencleaningthegrass shearblade,pleaseobservetheballcomponent. • • • Slightnotchesonthebladescanbe evenedout.Forthis,sanddownthe bladeswithanoilstone.Onlysharp bladescancutproperly. Blunt,bentordamagedbladesmust bechanged.Warning!Onlyuseoriginalparts. Keeptheequipmentintheblade guardsupplied,dry,andoutofreach ofchildren.
