Large Non-Ferrous Particles
Large non-ferrous particles are detected as short term spikes in the dielectric constant during the magnet off
state.
Water Droplets
Water Droplets are detected as an instantaneous and permanent change in dielectric constant.
Water Estimate
The Water Estimate is derived from the slope of the dielectric over the test interval. This estimate reflects the
level of insoluble contaminants in the sample such as water, coolant, and wear particles.
Ferrous Index
The ferrous index is determined at the end of the test. It represents the sum of the difference of dielectric
constant between the magnet off state with the magnet north and magnet south states.
