COLLISION DETECTION 79 The Collision Detection checks, if any two or more parts in the project touch each other. If a collision is detected, the colliding sections of the parts are marked yellow. The function can be accessed in the toolbar, in the Edit menu or by pressing Ctrl+K. Users can choose a tolerance of 1mm or 2.5mm, defining the raster size (figure 5.27). netfabb divides the whole three-dimensional space in raster cells of that size. Each raster cell occupied by more than one part is then marked yellow (figure 5.28). Thus, with a tolerance of 2.5mm, parts with a distance of up to 2.5mm may be marked as colliding.
