6 WHEELS 6.13 Adjusting Wheelbase Width Perform this procedure on one side of the wheelchair at a time for ease of adjustment. Camber Tube with Single Camber The wheelbase width can be increased/decreased by 1-inch (2.54 cm). 1. Remove the rear wheels. 2. Torque the axle nut to increase/decrease the wheelbase width. 3. Count the number of threads showing on the axle bolt. 4. The number of threads showing on the axle bolt should be equal on both sides of the wheelchair. Otherwise, wheelchair performance may be affected. Repeat STEPS 2-3 for the opposite axle nut and axle bolt. Camber Insert Axle Tube Axle Nut Threads Axle bolt removed from axle tube for clarity.
