Help is one of the greatest—and sadly, the least used—feature of most Windows programs. There is often more information about how to use a program under the Help feature than there is in the program manual! Many people actually learn how to use entire programs by simply using the Help feature of the program when they don’t know how to do something. Ev al Help allows you to try new, exciting things in programs all by yourself. It simply cannot be stressed how important and useful the Help feature is. There are several ways you can get help in Windows—we’ll look at them in the next couple of lessons. For this lesson, imagine that you’ve seen several of your co-workers use different sized fonts in their WordPad documents. You decide it’s time you learned how to change the size of fonts in WordPad, so you decide to use the help feature. Most Windows applications have a Help menu listed at the far right of the menu bar. You can also open Help pressing the <F1> key. 2002 CustomGuide, Inc.
