Loss or Damage: User agrees to bear all risk of loss, theft, damage to, or destruction of the video unit and accessories during the entire rental period and prior to successful return of the unit and accessories. All loss or damage requiring repair or replacement shall be paid for by the user and is limited to the full replacement value of the video unit and accessories. If any equipment is damaged and deemed reparable, Sports Clubs will repair the item and submit the bill to the User for reimbursement. The User should not repair or replace equipment outside of these procedures Theft: With all video units, theft is a major concern especially when left in a visible location. Please take the necessary precautions to secure both the unit and accessories to increase safety. Indemnity: Student will hold the University of Maryland and University Recreation & Wellness, harmless from and against all claims, loss, liability for any direct, special or consequential damages as a result of user’s use, custody, control, possession, and operation of the video unit and accessories. This indemnification includes any claims related to conduct or recorded content that is against State or federal law and University policy 1 Warranty of Condition: Sport Clubs makes every effort to ensure that video equipment and accessories are in good working order when checked out; however, due to the nature of the equipment, this cannot be guaranteed. By signing below, the user agrees that the equipment is in good working order, condition and appearance. Any aspect of the video unit and accessories that the user deems unacceptable must be immediately reported to Sport Clubs in writing, or damage charges will accrue. Use Guidelines & Care: Equipment components are shock-resistant, water-resistant and dustproof for use in the most hazardous environments only when the camera is in the provided waterproof case; however, it is of the upmost importance to use extreme care when handling the equipment. Please follow these guidelines when using the video equipment: If using the Go Pro app: o Network Name: UMDSportClubs o Network Password: winning247 Store your equipment in a cool, dry place. Clean and dry the equipment after every use. Bring the equipment back in the same condition you received it. THE CAMERA IS NOT WATERPROOF IF IT IS NOT IN THE WATERPROOF HOUSING The equipment may be submerged to 131’/ 40m if it is in the provided waterproof housing and the housing is properly sealed. We strongly recommend keeping the camera contained in its waterproof housing while being used at all times. Finally, it is important to rinse the housing and accessories with freshwater after use in a saltwater or chlorinated environment. Please delete all data from unit before returning. In most mounting situations, you will need an adhesive mount. Mounts can be purchased from many retail stores. It is advised to use the Floaty Backdoor when using the GoPro is water environments. Sport Clubs can’t guarantee the effectiveness/security of adhesive mounts. We recommend securing the GoPro by tether as an extra precaution.
