ADCP-RG-61-124-09 E1 Quad FLC Module Table 39. Alarm Condition LED Status Loss of E1 line input signal. (Signal not present on either Working or Protect System) E1 LOS (red) Protect System Alarms Alarm Remarks No Alarms, includes not sending a Remote alarm signal. Option switch SW2 position 2 OFF. E1 LOS (red) MAJOR (red) MINOR (yellow) Major or Minor Alarms, includes sending a Remote alarm Signal. With option switch SW2 position 2 ON and position 1 OFF = MAJOR LED and major alarm. Position 1 ON = MINOR LED and Minor alarm. Service does not transfer to Protect System. AIS sent on E1 drop. E1 line receiver failure (Signal not present on either Working or Protect System) E1 LOS (red) MAJOR (red) MINOR (yellow) Major Minor If E1 failure is on Working System, service will transfer to Protect System. To send a Remote alarm and initiate a MAJOR or MINOR LED and alarm, option switch SW2 position 2 ON and position 1 ON = MINOR LED and Minor alarm. (To provide an alarm for E1 receiver failure, it is recommended position 1 be ON for a MINOR LED and Alarm.) Position 1 OFF = MAJOR LED and major alarm. Loss of E1 output signal MOD FAIL (red) MINOR (yellow) Minor If E1 output failure is on Working System, service will transfer to Protect System. Loss of optical input signal OPT LOS/OOF (yellow) MINOR (yellow) Minor Indicates loss of incoming optical signal. RMT/HSKP LED is off even if the Far End is in alarm. Optical signal Out-of-Frame OPT/LOS/OOF (red) MINOR (yellow) Minor Indicates module is receiving faulty optical signal and is not able to frame it. Laser degrade MOD FAIL (red) MINOR (yellow) Minor Indicates module laser degradation. Does not initiate transfer to the Protect System. BER PROT SW threshold exceeded BER/MOD FAIL (yellow) MINOR (yellow) Minor Optical link exceeded BER APS threshold level. Switch to protection occurs. BER MIN ALM threshold exceeded BER/MOD FAIL (yellow) MINOR (yellow) Minor Optical link exceeded BER Minor alarm threshold level. No switch to Protect System. Controller failure MOD FAIL (red) MINOR (yellow) Minor Indicates internal module failure. Does not initiate a Remote alarm signal, but the Far End module illuminates MOD FAIL to indicate loss of communications with Near End. Remote alarm RMT/HSKP Remote Indicates Remote alarm. E1 line loopback operated LOS/LBPBK (yellow) MINOR (yellow) Minor Indicates the E1 line(s) that are in a loopback mode and are looped at the Far End. Automatic switch to Protect System ONLINE/STDBY (yellow) MINOR (yellow) Minor (Working System – both ends) Indicates E1 service switched to Protect System. ONLINE/STDBY (green) APS lockout APS LKOUT (red) MINOR (yellow) (Protect System – both ends) Indicates Protect System is providing the E1 service. Whatever caused the automatic switch to the Protect System to occur, activates the appropriate alarms as described in this table. Minor After third APS switch within a 24 hour period.
