RadVis SUM Issue 1 Revision 4 (30th August 2005) – DRAFT 15th July 2005 Software User Manual Refer to the Java usage documentation for your operating system for further information. Note that the above should all be entered in a single line (no line breaks) of code. The above example is written for execution in the directory that RadVis is installed in. In the example, it is C:\Program Files\DESIRE RadVis. The items in the Java classpath ( ie listed after -cp) should be supplied with full paths or relative locations that are correct in relation to where the command is executed in the file system. The RadVis application class is supplied (no.hvrc.radvis.RadVisApplication) after the class path. If the command is executed from a different location that the DESIRE RadVis directory itself then the radvis.basedir parameter must be set (as in the example above) to inform the system of the location of that directory. This is necessary in order for the software to be able to locate essential files. The properties radvis.viewconfig and radvis.fullscreen are used to configure the display. Display configuration is described elsewhere in this user manual. -Xms128m –Xmx512m is a memory configuration for the Java virtual machine. <project_filename> is the file that is to be loaded. It is preferable to provide a full file path or URI. Supplying a project file is optional. 4.23.4 What results to expect The RadVis application should start up and load the supplied project file (if any) 4.23.5 Probable errors and possible causes Incorrect file paths, property settings, or Java system requirements not met are the most likely causes of errors. 42- -
