Maintenance and Test Procedures
9. Reconnect the power to the switch machine at the junction box.
10. Operate the YM-2000™ crank back and forth as often as necessary and check for the
following:
a. Proper movement of YM-2000™ Switch Machine operating crank.
b. Excessive or unusual vibration and noise.
c. Excessive wear or lost motion.
11. Check the cut-out switch to ensure that power is disconnected from the switch machine
when the hand crank is inserted for manual operation. Ensure that all soldered
connections are protected with shrink tubing.
5.3. Lubrication
5.3.1. Gear Motor
5.3.1.1. Checking the Grease in the Gearbox
The gearbox is filled at the factory with Mobilith SHC 007 grease. Because this is a lifetime
lubricant, replacing this grease should not be necessary.
5.3.1.2. Operating Crank and Shaft
Two grease fittings are provided and require lubrication (approximately three strokes of a grease
gun) every three months with specification M7651-2 grease. One grease fitting is located where
the operating rod connects to the crank. The other, which lubricates the crank shaft bearings, is
located on top of the housing that protects the crank shaft.
5.3.2. Oiling Other Components
Use an oil can to apply a few drops of SAE-30 oil to the cover hinges, hasp pin, and threads.
5.4. Adjustments
5.4.1. Motor Limit Switch Cam Adjustment
An adjustable cam, located on the clutch housing, operates the motor limit switches SR and SL.
This cam must be adjusted to account for motor drift following the disconnection of the power
supply to the gear motor via the contactor.
