Instruction Sheet For Tool #943 Ignition Switch Alignment Tool Use on FL Touring models on 2003 to present that have a H-D No.61530-03B ignition switch. NOTE: PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY PERFORMING ANY WORK! IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, DO NOT DO IT! JIMS® IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR QUALITY, SAFETY, DAMAGE, OR INJURIES FROM YOUR WORK PERFORMED. Warning: Disconnect the negative ground cable at the battery or Maxi-fuse as indicated in service manual. Removal Procedures: Note: Below you will find an example of how to use the Ignition Switch Alignment Tool, using JIMS Tool No. 943. Refer to H-D Service Manual and H-D Touring electrical service manual to remove switch knob and spring to gain access to the switch. See Fig 1. By installing this tool, it will allow you to still move the switch location needed for removal of the switch housing. 1. Gently place the small diameter end of tool into the top (threaded post) bore of switch housing where you just removed the knob assembly. See Fig 2. Note: Do not force the tool’s tip into the switch. Gently insert. It is designed to move just the internal of the switch housing from one position to the other. 2. After you have installed the tool and turned it back and forth to feel how it moves the switch housing parts, then turn the tools handle gently all the way to the right. Turn the forks gently to right stop, remove top nut with a 7/8” wrench by turning nut counter-clock wise. See Fig 2. 3. Remove all other components, collar, spacer, and switch cover plate per the service manual to gain access to switch housing. Installing: 1. Refer to H-D Touring Service Manual or the H-D electrical Service Manual on the correct way to align the switch housing and position switch lugs using this tool related to the fork lock.
