Removing the Flat Tire and
Installing the Spare Tire
The jack and tools are located in the
luggage compartment and below the
rear bumper.
To remove the jack and tools:
1. Open the tailgate.
2. Lift the floor cover to locate the
wing bolt.
3. Turn the wing bolt counterclockwise to remove it from the jack.
4. Remove the jack and tool bag.
5. Remove the straps holding the tool
bag.
6. Remove the tools from the bag.
To remove the spare tire:
1. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove
the hole cover above the rear bumper.
2. Use the wheel wrench to loosen the
bolt to lower the spare tire.
3. Unhook the cable on the tire carrier
located below the rear bumper.
4. Remove the spare tire. See Compact
Spare Tire on page 9-59.
Stow the jack and tools securely so they
do not rattle while the car is moving.
1. Do a safety check before proceeding. See If a Tire Goes Flat on page
9-53.
Call CHEVROLET retailer for
assistance if it is not safe to jack the
vehicle or change the tire safely.
2. Use the wheel wrench or screwdriver to remove the wheel cover if
there is one.
3. Use the wheel wrench to loosen all
the wheel nuts. Do not remove any
of the nuts until the wheel is off the
ground.
