Avoid sudden temperature changes, vibration, wind and water. Avoid sudden and jerky acceleration of the load. Avoid heavy RF noise. Load the balance only in vertical traction direction. Make sure that there never are persons or objects under the load which could be injured or damaged. The balance is not suitable for weighing for persons. -3- DR hanging scales service manual 2. INSTALLATION When you receive the scale, inspect it to make sure that it is not damaged and that all parts are included: Remove the scale from the protective cover. Store the packaging and to use if you need to transport the scale later. Crane balance is only suitable for hanging from a mechanical hook. The location must be such that the instrument is not subject to excessive vibrations, heat or humidity. Avoid direct sunlight on the front of the instrument. The unit has to be installed at the right height to allow an easy reading of the display and convenient keyboard operation. The instrument is powered from external power adaptor 9VDC/800mA or internal battery 6V/1.2 AH. Battery charging is performed while the external power is connected. POWER- BATTERY CHARGING: To charge the battery insert the adaptor pin to jack. Adaptor simply plug into the mains power. The scale no needs to be turned on. The battery should be charged for 12 hours for full capacity. Right side of the display there is an LED to indicate the status of battery charging. When the scale is plugged into the mains power the internal battery will be recharged. If the LED is green, the battery has a full charge. If it is red, the battery is nearly discharged and if yellow, the battery is being charged. Do not use any other type of power adaptor than the one supplied with the DR scale. Verify that the AC power socket outlet is properly protected. -4- DR hanging scales service manual 3. NAMES AND FUNCTIONS Overall View Key board ON/OFF : Used to turn the scale on/off. ZERO : Used to reset to zero. TARE : Used to recording tare values and change the value from gross value to net value. When in the settings mode, used to Increase the value. HOLD : Used to reading lock. When in the settings mode used to change decimal point. UNIT : Used to change weighing units. When in the settings mode used to escape setting. DISPLAY -5- DR hanging scales service manual BATT : Battery indicator. When display shows the indication battery should be recharge. ZERO : Zero indicator. When the display shows the indication, the scale is in Zero point TARE : Tare indicator. When the display shows the indication the tare value has being applied. HOLD : Hold / Lock indication . When the display shows the indication the reading data has been stored. Press the hold key again to return weighing mode. Kg : Showing weighing in Kilogram mode. Lb : Showing weighing in pound mode. REMOTE CONTROL Key 1. TARE Key 2. ZERO Key 3. UNIT Key 4. HOLD Remote keys all are same like Scale keys -6- DR hanging scales service manual 4. OPERATION Initial Start –Up Warm-up time of 15 minutes stabilizes the measured values after switching on. 1. Power ON/OFF: Switch on the balance by pressing on/ off key. The display is switched on and the test is started and if want to switched off, press again the key. 2. Zero Environmental conditions can lead to the balance exactly zero in spite of the hook not taking any strain. However, you can set the display of your balance to zero any time by pressing zero key and therefore ensure that the weighing starts at zero. 3. Tare The weight of any container can be tared by pressing tare button so that with subsequent weighing the net weight of the object being weighed is always displayed. Load weight on the hook Press tare key. Zero is displayed, and tare is subtracted. Remove weight on the hook. Tared weight is displayed. It can set only one tare value. It can display with a minus value. Press tare key. Zero is displayed, tare weight is cleared. 4. Hold If want to weigh liquid or variable item. When reading is not stable, by pressing hold key can lock reading. 5. Overload Avoid to adding item more than scale capacity. When display will show –ol- , remove the item from the hook to avoid damage. 6. Auto Off The scale can set Automatic power off. The function makes power down when a scale is not operated by user to save battery power. It can set different time options. For settings see the parameter F7 off. 7. Display-Back light The scale has the option of back light. It can help to see white background and more bright. For settings see the parameter F6 bk -7- DR hanging scales service manual 5. PARAMETER Enter the parameter setting mode. Turn on the scale and press Tare key during self checking, display will show “F0 CAP” Use Tare key to shift parameter items, use Zero key to sure and use Hold key to escape current setting item.
