I relativi criteri delle aree sono indicati negli standard europeiarmonizzati EN-60079-10 e EN 1127-1.
Pertanto non presentano pericoli per l’operatore se usatesecondo le istruzioni di questo manuale.
Il manuale deve essere conservato in buono stato e/o allegatoalla macchina per le future consultazioni del manutentore.

EQUAFLUX pulsation dampeners have been manufactured
tothe 98/37/CE, 94/9/CEE and 99/92/EC directives.
The relevant area criteria are indicated in the EN-60079-10 and
EN 1127-1harmonized European standards.
Therefore, if used according to the instructions contained in
thismanual, the dampener will not represent any risk to the
operator. This manual must be preserved in good condition
and/oraccompany the machine as reference for maintenance
pur-poses. The manufacturer rejects any liability for any
alteration,modification, incorrect application or operation not
complyingwith the contents of this manual and that may cause
damagethe health and safety of persons, animals or objects
stationingnear the dampener.The Manufacturer trusts you will

EQUAFLUX dampeners.All the technical values refer to the
standard version of theEQUAFLUX dampeners (please see
“TECHNICAL FEATURES”). However, our continuous search

Il presente manuale è parte integrante dello smorzatore di
pulsazioni, è un DISPOSITIVO DI SICUREZZA e contiene le
informazioni importanti affinchè l’acquirente ed il suo personale
installino, utilizzino e mantengano in costante stato di efficienzae sicurezza lo smorzatore per tutta la sua vita.
All’inizio di ogni Capitolo e di ogni sezione è stata creata una
linea di stato che attraverso simboli indica il personale abilitato
all’intervento, le protezioni individuali obbligatorie e/o lo stato
energetico dello smorzatore.
Il rischio residuo durante l’operazione viene evidenziato con
appositi simboli integrati con testo. Graficamente, all’interno del

informa-tion that will assist the purchaser and his personnel in
installing, using and servicing the dampener in good condition
and safety during service life.

operation described in that page along with the individual
protec-tive devices that must be worn and/or the energetic

Uso previsto
Gli smorzatori EQUAFLUX sono stati progettati e costruiti per
smorzare, in automatico, le variazioni di prevalenza e portata
a valle di pompe pneumatiche a membrana per liquidi di materiali chimicamente compatibili con i componenti costruttivi.Il
funzionamento dello smorzatore è consentito con temperature d’esercizio da +3°C fino ad un massimo di 60/95°C infunzione dei materiali dei componenti. L’impiego è in funzionedel
tipo di materiale di composizione dello smorzatore, dellaclasse di temperatura e del tipo di fluido. La massima temperatura
ammessa per fluidi o polveri di processo è comunque subordinata e/o declassata dal materiale dello smorzatore; incaso
di superamento non è garantito il rispetto della massima temperatura apposta sulla marcatura.

ATTENZIONE: in considerazione del campo di variazione ammesso della temperatura ambiente in
zona 1, temperature di processo del fluido superiori
a quelle sopra indicate,oltre che causare danni allo smorzatore, non consentono ilrispetto delle corrispondenti classi
di temperatura T4 (135°C). Laddove l’utilizzatore preveda
il rischio di superamento deilimiti di temperatura previsti
dal presente manuale, è necessario installare sull’impianto
un dispositivo di protezione che impedisca il raggiungimento della temperatura massimaammessa di processo
del fluido. La massima temperatura dell’apparecchiatura è
statadeterminata senza deposito di polvere sulle superfici
esterne ed interne.

Principio di funzionamento
Usi impropri
La membrana dello smorzatore mossa dalla pulsazione del
prodotto pompato dalla pompa pneumatica a valle determina
l’intervento automatico della valvola pneumatica dello smozatore che, grazie ad una camera prodotto di capacità idonea
al tipo di pompa, è in grado di compensare la variazionedi
prevalenza e/o portata. La frequenza e l’entità della prevalenza
sono autoregolate inautomatico senza nessun intervento o
impostazione in funzione delle reali necessità del circuito del
prodotto riducendo così idannosi colpi d’ariete e minimizzando
le vibrazioni a salvaguardia delle apparecchiature in linea.
ATTENZIONE: qualsiasi altro impiego degli smorzatoridifferente da quanto precedentemente descritto eprecisato al Capitolo “CARATTERISTICHE
TECNICHE” èconsiderato improprio e quindi vietato dalla
ditta Debem.
ATTENZIONE: data l’innumerevole varietà di
prodotti ecomposizioni chimiche l’utilizzatore è
ritenuto il maggiorconoscitore delle reazioni e
compatibilità con i materialicostruttivi dello smorzatore.
Pertanto prima dell’impiegoeseguire con perizia tutte le
verifiche e prove necessarie alfine di evitare situazioni
pericolose anche se remote che nonpossono essere conosciute ed imputabili al costruttore.
ATTENZIONE: ogni utilizzo dello smorzatore al di
fuori delleistruzioni indicate nel manuale d’uso e
manutenzione fadecadere i requisiti di sicurezza
e tutela dal pericolo diesplosione.Sono stati analizzati i
rischi connessi all’utilizzo dellosmorzatore nelle precise
condizioni prescritte dal manualed’uso e manutenzione:
l’analisi dei rischi legati all’interfacciacon altri componenti
dell’impianto e demandata all’installatore.
ATTENZIONE: ATTENZIONE: l’utilizzzatore deve
valutare il rapporto trala massima temperatura di
superficie dello smorzatoreindicata nella marcatura
e la minima temperatura di accensione degli strati di polvere e delle nubi di polvere comeindicato nella EN1227-1.
Normativa ATEX: E’ responsabilità dell’utilizzatore dell’apparecchiatura di classificare la propria
zona, è invece a carico del fabbricante l’identifi
cazione della categoria dell’apparecchiatura.

- l’impiego con liquidi da pompare incompatibili chimicamente

- l’impiego con prodotti in sospensione di peso specifico

- con pressioni pneumatiche, temperature e caratteristiche
del prodotto in disaccordo con i dati tecnici.

Functioning principles
Improper use
The product pulsation caused by the pneumatic pump moves
the dampener diaphragm which in turn causes the dampener
air valve to step in. A product chamber suitably dimensioned to
the pump type compensates the head and/or delivery changes.
The head frequency and capacity are automatically adjusted
without any intervention or set up according to the actual product
circuit requirements. This reduces dangerous waterhammer
effects and vibration therefore protecting other equipment on
the same line.
WARNING: use of a dampeners for any other use
otherthan that previously described IN THE CHAPTER EN-TITLED “TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS”
is to be considered improper use of the dampener and is
therefore forbidden by Debem.

In particular, it is FORBIDDEN to use EQUAFLUX dampeners for:
- operation with liquids that are chemically incompatible withthe
materials of construction;
- operation with suspended products whose specific weight
is higher than the liquid’s (for example with water and sand);

set forth in the use and main-tenance manual have been
analysed, whilst the analysis ofthe risks associated with
the interface with other systemcomponents must be carried
out by the installer.

Gli smorzatori di pulsazioni EQUAFLUX sono un prodotto di
qualità che ci viene riconosciuta, con piena soddisfazione, da
quanti ne sono in possesso.
Qualora dovesse subentrare un’anomalia va contattato il
SERVIZIO D’ASSISTENZA del COSTRUTTORE, il rivenditore o ilcentro di assistenza a Lei più vicino che verrà in Suo
aiuto nel più breve tempo possibile. Indicare in ogni caso
quanto segue:
Tutte gli smorzatori di pulsazioni EQUAFLUX sono coperte
dallaseguente formula:
1- Lo smorxzatore è garantito per 12 mesi su tutte le parti
meccaniche trovate difettose . Il periodo di garanzia verrà calcolato partendo dalla data di consegna.
2- Di ogni difetto dovrà dare entro 8 giorni notizia scritta al
Costruttore
3- L’intervento in garanzia verrà esclusivamente effettuato
presso le nostre officine previa spedizione o invio dello smorzatore difettoso.
4- In caso di riparazione o sostituzione di parti dello smorzatorela garanzia non verrà prolungata.

5- Le parti difettose dovranno essere rispedite al Costruttore il

le parti non risultino difettose, il Costruttore si riserva difatturare il costo integrale dei pezzi precedentementesostituiti in
garanzia.
Il Costruttore non si fa carico dei costi e i rischi del trasporto
delle parti difettose e delle parti riparate o di quelle fornite in
sostituzione, ivi compresi eventuali oneri doganali.
La riparazione o sostituzione delle parti difettose costituisce
piena soddisfazione degli obblighi di garanzia.
La garanzia NON comprenderà nessun danno indiretto ed
in particolare l’eventuale mancata produzione. Inoltre sono
esclusi dalla garanzia tutti i materiali di normale consumo ed
usura (membrane, guarnizioni, ecc.).
Non sono comprese nella garanzia le parti che dovessero
risultare danneggiate a causa di errata installazione, trascuratezza o negligenza nell’uso, errata manutenzione, danni dovuti al trasporto e da qualsiasi circostanza che non possa riferirsi
a difetti di funzionamento o di fabbricazione.
La garanzia è esclusa in tutti i casi di uso improprio o
appli-cazioni scorrette e dell’inosservanza delle informazioni contenute in questo manuale. Per ogni controversia
il Foro Competente è quello di BustoArsizio.

However, should any defect appear, please contact the
Manufacturer’s After-Sales Service, your delear or the nearest
Customer Service Center where you will receive assistance as

In any case, please provide:
All EQUAFLUX pulsation dampeners are covered by the
following warranty:
1 - Twelve months for any faulty mechanical parts.
The warrantyperiod starts from the date of supply.
2 - Any fault or anomaly must be reported to the Manufacturer
within eight days.
3 - Warranty repair will be carried out exclusively at the
Manufacturer’s premises following to shipment or despatch
ofthe defective dampener.
4 - The warranty will not be extended in the event of repair or
replacement of parts of the dampener.

- nel caso di rottura totale delle membrane, il fluido può entrare nel circuito pneumatico, danneggiarlo ed uscire dallo scarico. Pertanto bisogna convogliare lo scarico dell’aria in una
tubazione fino ad una zona sicura.
ATTENZIONE: l’alimentazione dell’aria non deve
mai risultare superiore a 7bar o inferiore a 2 bar.

3. Provvedere all’allacciamento del tubo del prodotto tra la
pompa e lo smorzatore.
Dopo aver eseguito il posizionamento è possibile effettuare
l’allacciamento dello smorzatore al circuito del prodotto operando come segue:
ATTENZIONE: per le connessioni ai collettori dello
smorzatore impiegare unicamente raccordi con
filettature gas cilindrico di materiale compatibile
con il fluido da pompare e con il materiale di costruzione
dello smorzatore.

7. Nel caso di rottura totale delle membrane, il fluido può entrare
nel circuito pneumatico, danneggiarlo ed uscire dallo scarico.
Pertanto bisogna convogliare lo scarico dell’aria in una tubazione
fino ad una zona sicura.
ATTENZIONE: i raccordi con innesti rapidi: la maggior
parte provocano cadute di pressione.
4. Regolare la pressione di rete dell’aria compressa in modo da garantire, durante il funzionamento, una pressione NON INFERIORE
a 2bar e NON SUPERIORE a 7bar. Pressioni inferiori o superiori
possono causare problemi di funzionamento
o rotture dello smorzatore, fuoriuscite del prodotto e danni a
persone e/o cose.
ATTENZIONE: laddove l’utilizzatore preveda il rischio
di superamento dei limiti di temperatura previsti dal
presente manuale, è necessario installare sull’impianto
un dispositivo di protezione che impedisca il raggiungimento
della temperatura massima di processo di 95°C per gli smorzatori in classe T4 in ECTFE, oppure 60°C per gli smorzatori
sempre in classe T4 ma in PP + CF (polipropilene).

SUGGERIMENTO
2.1a Provvedere alla sostituzione della valvola pneumatica.
2.2a Smontare e provvedere alla pulizia del tubo del prodotto.
2.3a Intervenire di conseguenza.
2.4a Verificare la linea di alimentazione dell’aria.
2.5a Controllare la pressione con un manometro installato
sullapompa ed a pompa in funzione: vedi pag. 20. Se lapressione in quel punto è troppo bassa rispetto alla pressio-ne di
rete, controllare tutti gli attacchi dell’aria, specialmentequelli
adinnesto rapido. Controllare che tutti i dispositivi dicontrollo aria abbiano portata sufficiente. ATTENZIONE: Nel 90% i
casi di stallo dipendono dagli innesti rapidi.
ADVICE
2.1a Replace the air valve

2.3a Take appropriate action.
2.4a Check the air feed line.
2.5a Check pressure using a pressure guage installed on
thepump when the pump is running: see on page 20. Ifthe
pressure value at that point is too low in relation to thenetwork
pressure, check all the air fittings, especially thesnap-on ones.
Ensure that all the air control equipmenthas sufficient flow.
WARNING: 90% of the stalls occurwith snap-on fittings.

In caso di lunghi periodi di inattività dello smorzatore operarecome segue:

con i materiali dello smorzatore: PERICOLO DI LESIONI,
DANNI ALLA SALUTE E/O MORTE.
4. Se si desidera stoccare a magazzeno lo smorzatore bisogna:

ATTENZIONE: l’eventuale stoccaggio deve essere
eseguito in ambiente chiuso e protetto con temperature comprese tra i 5 e i 45°C, con un grado di
umidità non superiore al 90%.
!
1. Provvedere ad un lavaggio interno impiegando prodottiidonei al tipo di fluido pompato.
5. Nel caso lo smorzatore sia stato inattivo per lunghi periodi
èopportuno far circolare acqua pulita per alcuni minuti primadi
essere rimessa in servizio per evitare depositi diincrostazioni.
2. Chiudere i rubinetti dell’aspirazione e della mandata del
fluido.

5. If the dampener was in disuse for a long period of time,
you must circulate clean water through it before restarting it
to avoid incrustations.

and a hu-midity level not above 90%.
