Olympus IX-Series Non-Hoffman Condensers
Refer to Figure 3.10 for a visual reference. Flip
open one of the swing arm filter holders from the
illumination pillar. Snap the CRi CP/IF optic into
position. Be sure that the CRi logo reads from topto-bottom, and that the mirror-side of the optic is
facing towards the illumination source.

Zeiss Axiovert 200 Non-Hoffman Condensers
Remove the circular polarizer and filter from the
CRi housing by unscrewing the optic. Be sure to
maintain the orientation of the optics, such that
the circular polarizer is inserted top side-up, as an
inverted circular polarizer will prevent the system
from working properly. Snap the circular polarizer
into the middle plastic filter holder (as shown in
Figure 3.11). Proceed to then snap the interference
filter into the top filter holder. The arrow on the filter
housing should face downward, in the direction of
the sample stage. It is recommended to use gloves
or surround the optic with lens paper as you insert it
into the filter holders to avoid getting fingerprints on
the face of the optics. To clean the optic, reference
the helpful hint on Page 18.

Be careful to insert optics face-up. An inverted optic
will prevent the system from working properly.
Warning: The CP/IF for Olympus systems
may look identical to that for Zeiss systems, but
the circular polarizer is not the same. They are
not interchangeable.
Leica DM-IRB Non-Hoffman Condensers
Place the CRi CP/IF filter ring in the microscope
swing-arm, which is located above the turret
condenser as shown in Figure 3.12. Be sure that the
CRi logo is face-up.
