Download INTEGRATED WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT FOR

Transcript
There are diverse analyses that can be conducted backed on the above methodology. It can be used to prioritise the protection of regions in the water resources system; or to develop policy mechanisms like government ownership or control of land, government regulations, government incentive payments, and voluntary payments (Brauman et al., 2007). More simple but not less useful is the selection of alternatives (about land uses change, demands satisfaction, etc.) which accomplish the legislation and satisfy all the stakeholders, that maximise the WS. Another approach would be the optimisation of water treatment costs, through the maximisation of the self‐purification capacity of the river; or the maximisation of water resources availability analysing the influence of land uses on the different water cycle variables. Provided that sometimes data is uncertain, and more in the case of distant future, this kind of methodology presents an opportunity to test effects of uncertainty (Wainger et al., 2010). Then the possibilities that the linkage of IWRM and ES brings are very broad and will be demonstrated in future research. METHODOLOGY
