FORMES ET PRÉSENTATIONS • Oziben® 100 mg - comprimés : boîte de 6 comprimés • Oziben® 500 mg - comprimé : boîte de 1 comprimé • Oziben® 200 mg - sachet : boîte de 3 sachets • Oziben® 30 ml - suspension buvable : flacon de 30 ml contenant 600 mg de mebendazole, avec gobelet doseur gradué. CLASSE PHARMACO-THÉRAPEUTIQUE Antiparasitaire / anthelminthique INDICATIONS Oziben® est un médicament contre les vers parasites. Il est indiqué dans le traitement des infestations par une ou plusieurs des espèces suivantes : - oxyures (Enterobius vermicularis), - trichocéphales (Trichuris trichiuria), - ascaris (Ascaris lumbricoides), - ankylostome (Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus) - anguillules (Strongyloides stercoralis), - tenia (Taenia spp.). MISE EN GARDE Dans quels cas ne pas utiliser ce médicament ? Ne pas utiliser Oziben® en cas d’hypersensibilité (allergie) au Mebendazole et, pour la suspension buvable, aux parabens (agents conservateurs). En cas de doute, il est indispensable de demander l’avis de votre médecin ou de votre pharmacien. PRÉCAUTIONS D'EMPLOI Utiliser ce médicament avec précaution chez les enfants de moins de 2 ans : Oziben® ne peut-être donné aux enfants de moins de 2 ans que sur prescription médicale. En cas de doute, ne pas hésiter à demander l’avis de votre médecin ou de votre pharmacien. INTERACTIONS MÉDICAMENTEUSES Informez votre médecin en cas de prise de cimétidine (médicament contre l’acidité de l’estomac), celui-ci pourra être amené à adapter la posologie. Afin d’éviter d’éventuelles interactions entre plusieurs médicaments, il faut signaler systématiquement tout autre traitement en cours à votre médecin ou à votre pharmacien. GROSSESSE - ALLAITEMENT En cas de grossesse, informez votre médecin qui décidera si vous pouvez prendre Oziben®. En cas d’allaitement, consultez d’abord votre médecin qui décidera si vous pouvez prendre Oziben®. D’une façon générale, il convient au cours de la grossesse ou de l’allaitement de toujours demander l’avis à votre médecin ou de votre pharmacien avant d’utiliser un médicament. POSOLOGIE Le mebendazole étant très peu absorbé dans l’intestin, la posologie sera la même chez les adultes et les enfants de plus de 2 ans. La posologie est variable selon les espèces responsables de l’infestation. • Oziben® 100 mg - comprimés : Oxyurose : 1 comprimé matin et soir, à renouveler 2 à 4 semaines plus tard. Le premier traitement tue les vers, mais pas les oeufs, ces oeufs pouvant causer une nouvelle infestation, le deuxième traitement est nécessaire pour éliminer complètement l’infestation. Ascaridiose, trichocéphalose, ankylostomose, infections mixtes : 1 comprimé matin et soir pendant 3 jours. Téniase et anguillulose : 1 comprimé matin et soir pendant 6 jours. COMPOSITION • Oziben® 100 mg - tablet: mebendazole: 100 mg per tablet • Oziben® 500 mg - tablet: mebendazole: 500 mg per tablet • Oziben® 200 mg - sachet: mebendazole: 200 mg per sachet • Oziben® 30 ml - oral suspension: mebendazole: 100 mg per one teaspoonful of suspension (5 ml) Preservatives: methylparaben 0.2%, propylparaben 0.02%. INDICATIONS Oziben® is a medicinal product for the treatment of parasitic worms. It is indicated for the treatment of infestations by one or more of the following species: - pinworm (Enterobius vermicularis), - whipworm (Trichuris trichiuria), - ascaris (Ascaris lumbricoides), - hookworm (Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus), - strongylid threadworm (Strongyloides stercoralis), - taenia (Taenia spp.). MODE D'EMPLOI ET VOIE D'ADMINISTRATION • Oziben® 100 mg - comprimés Oziben® 500 mg - comprimé : comprimés à prendre par la bouche avec un liquide. • Oziben® 200 mg - sachet : sachet à prendre par la bouche, directement ou avec un liquide. • Oziben® 30 ml - suspension buvable : liquide à prendre par la bouche. FRÉQUENCE ET MOMENT AUQUEL LE MÉDICAMENT DOIT ÊTRE ADMINISTRÉ Il n’est pas nécessaire de prendre Oziben® avec des aliments: on peut le prendre à jeun. Aucune précaution alimentaire n’est nécessaire et il n’est pas utile de prendre des laxatifs: les vers s’élimineront d’eux-mêmes ou seront digérés. WARNING When this medicine should not be used: Do not use Oziben® in the event of hypersensitivity (allergy) to mebendazole and, with the oral suspension, to parabens (preservatives). If in doubt, it is essential to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. CONDUITE À TENIR EN CAS DE SURDOSAGE En cas de prise d’une quantité excessive d’Oziben®, se rappeler d’abord que le produit est très peu absorbé dans l’intestin; consultez votre médecin. Un traitement par le charbon activé est généralement indiqué. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE This medicinal product should be used with care in children below the age of 2 years: Oziben® can only be given to children below the age of 2 years if prescribed by a doctor. If in doubt, do not hesitate to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. EFFETS INDÉSIRABLES Oziben® est généralement bien toléré et peu d’effets indésirables ont été rapportés aux doses prescrites. Des douleurs abdominales et des diarrhées passagères peuvent survenir, en particulier en cas d’infestation massive. Dans ce cas, il faut poursuivre le traitement. Signalez à votre médecin ou à votre pharmacien tout effet indésirable ou gênant qui vous semblerait en rapport avec la prise du produit et qui ne serait pas mentionné dans cette notice. DRUG INTERACTIONS Tell your doctor if you are taking cimetidine (a medicine that combats stomach acidity) because it may be necessary to adjust the dose. In order to prevent any interactions between several medicines, you must always tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other current treatment. PREGNANCY - BREASTFEEDING During pregnancy, tell your doctor who will decide if you can take Oziben®. If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor first, who will decide whether you can take Oziben®. As a general rule, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication. CONSERVATION • Oziben® 100 mg - comprimés Oziben® 500 mg - comprimé Oziben® 200 mg - sachet : Conserver à l’abri de la chaleur et de l’humidité. • Oziben® 30 ml - suspension buvable : Conserver à une température ne dépassant pas 25°C. The dosage varies, depending on the species causing the infestation. • Oziben® 100 mg - tablet: Pinworm: 1 tablet, morning and evening, to be repeated 2 to 4 weeks later. The initial treatment kills the worms but not the eggs, which can cause a further infestation. The second treatment is therefore necessary to completely eliminate the infestation. Ascariasis, whipworm disease, hookworm disease, mixed infections: 1 tablet, morning and evening, for 3 days. Taenia and strongylid threadworm: 1 tablet, morning and evening, for 6 days. • Oziben® 500 mg - tablet: In adults and children over the age of 5 years, the repeated administration of 100 mg tablets can be replaced by a single administration of one, 500 mg tablet. The usual dosage is 500 mg in a single intake, to be repeated once after 3 weeks if the infestation persists. • Oziben® 200 mg - sachet: Pinworm: 1 sachet, to be repeated 2 to 4 weeks later. The initial treatment kills the worms but not the eggs, which can cause a further infestation. The second treatment is therefore necessary to completely eliminate the infestation. Ascariasis, whipworm disease, hookworm disease, mixed infections: 1 sachet per day for 3 days. Taenia and strongylid threadworm: 1 sachet per day for 6 days. • Oziben® 30 ml - oral suspension: Pinworm: 5 ml, morning and evening on the same day, to be repeated 2 to 4 weeks later. Taenia and strongylid threadworm: 5 ml, morning and evening, for 6 consecutive days. METHOD AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION • Oziben® 100 mg - tablet Oziben® 500 mg - tablet: Tablets to be taken by mouth with liquid. • Oziben® 200 mg - sachet: Sachet to be taken by mouth, either directly or with liquid. • Oziben® 30 ml - oral suspension: Liquid to be taken by mouth in a teaspoon. FREQUENCY AND TIMING OF DOSES: It is not necessary to take Oziben® with food: it can be taken after fasting. No dietary precautions are necessary, and there is no need to take any laxatives: the worms will be excreted or digested. MANAGEMENT OF OVERDOSE If an excessive quantity of Oziben® is taken, it should be remembered first of all that it is little absorbed in the intestine: consult your doctor. Treatment with activated charcoal is usually indicated. UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS Oziben® is generally well tolerated and few undesirable effects have been reported at the prescribed doses. Abdominal pain and transient diarrhoea may occur, particularly in the event of massive infestation. In such cases, treatment should be pursued. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any undesirable or unpleasant effects that you think may be associated with use of this product and which would not be mentioned in this leaflet. La posologie habituelle est de 500 mg en une prise, à renouveler une fois au bout de 3 semaines si l’infestation persiste. • Oziben® 200 mg - sachet : Oxyurose : 1 sachet à renouveler 2 à 4 semaines plus tard.
