If a unit is connected to the LINE jack (2), the microphone jack of the corresponding channel is switched off.] Stereo channels 9/10 and 11/12: - Connect units with line level (e. g. CD player, tape deck, keyboard) to the jacks (49) and/or (50). [The jacks (49) and (50) are switched in parallel.] It is possible to insert a mono effect unit into each individual input channel. The channel signal is taken off via the INSERT jack (3) and is fed back through the same jack. For the connection of an effect unit a Y cable (one 1/4“ stereo plug to two 1/4“ mono plugs) is required. Insert the stereo plug into the jack (3) and connect both mono plugs with the input and output of the effect unit. For monitoring the individual input channels via headphones (impedance ≥ 32 Ω), connect them to the jack (27). The signals of the input channels can be taken off at the outputs AUX SEND 1 and 2 (44) and can be fed to a following unit with line input (e. g. monitor system, effect unit). Connect the corresponding unit to the corresponding jack: AUX SEND 1 jack: signals of the Aux 1 bus (post-fader) AUX SEND 2 jack: signals of the Aux 2 bus (optionally pre-fader or postfader) The input jacks STEREO RETURN 1 and 2 (47) are designed mainly for feeding back the signals taken off at the outputs (44) and fed through an effect unit. In this case, the output of the effect unit has to be connected to the respective jack. Further line sources (e. g. CD player, tape deck) may also be connected to these jacks. An additional line source (e. g. CD player, tape deck) can be connected to the TAPE IN jacks (46). Connect a sound recording unit to the TAPE OUT (REC) jacks (45) if sound recordings are required. The recording signal is taken off ahead of the graphic equalizer (37) and both master controls (21). len (z. OUT (43) anschließen. OUT (39) anschließen. 9) Signale, die an den Ausgängen MIX. OUT (43) bzw. EQ. 8) For feeding the stereo master without any signal influence through the internal graphic equalizer (37) to a following unit (e. g. external equalizer, effect unit, amplifier system), connect this unit to the MIX. OUT jacks (43). For feeding the stereo master after the internal graphic equalizer (37) to a following unit (e. g. effect unit, amplifier system), connect this unit to the EQ. OUT jacks (39). 9) Signals which are taken off at the outputs MIX. OUT (43) resp. EQ. OUT (39) and are inserted into a connected unit (e. g. equalizer, effect unit), can be fed back to the PMX-600 via the EQ. IN jacks (40) or the AMP. IN jacks (38). If plugs are inserted into the EQ. IN jacks (40), the output of the mixer module is disconnected and the fed-in signal is connected to the equalizer (37)/power amplifier section instead. If plugs are inserted into the AMP. IN jacks (38), the output of the mixer/graphic equalizer (37) is disconnected and the fed-in signal is connected to the power amplifier section instead. 5.2 Connections on the rear panel 1) Connect the speakers either via the Speakon jacks (52) and (55) or via the binding posts (53) and (54). The speakers must have an impedance of at least 4 Ω. The power capability of the speakers must be at least as large as the output power of the amplifier (see chapter 7 "Specifications"). 5.2 Anschlüsse auf der Rückseite D 1) Die Lautsprecher entweder über die SpeakonBuchsen (52) und (55) oder über die Apparate- A buchsen (53) und (54) anschließen. 1) Bei Verwendung von phantomgespeisten Kondensatormikrofonen die Taste PHANTOM (42) drücken: Eine Phantomspeisung von +48 V wird auf alle Mikrofoneingänge (1) gegeben, als Funk- 2) Connect a mains cable to the jack (51) and insert GB the plug into a socket (230 V~ /50 Hz). 6 Operation Before switching on the mixer, set the power amplifier control (33) and the master controls (21) as well as the Aux 1 and Aux 2 master controls (22) and (24) to minimum in order to avoid loud switching noises. Then switch on the PMX-600 with the on/off switch (41). The green "ON" LED next to the switch lights to indicate operation. The green "SGN" LED (16) will light at those input channels with applied signal. 6.1 Mixing of the connected signal sources Before taking the unit into operation for the first time, set all GAIN controls (6), tone controls (8), (10), and (11) as well as the sliding controls of the graphic equalizer (37) to center position. 1) Press the PHANTOM button (42) when using phantom-powered condenser microphones: A phantom power supply of +48 V is fed to all microphone inputs (1), the green "+48 V" LED below the button lights. CAUTION! If the phantom power supply is switched on, no unbalanced microphones must be connected to the microphone inputs since they may be destroyed. Pin connections for the binding posts: red = speaker + black = speaker ground 2) The output level of the PMX-600 is adjusted with the power amplifier control LEVEL (33). Adjust the control to approx. 2/3 of the maximum (position U) so that the mixer adjustments can be easily heard. Overloads of the power amplifier are indicated via lighting of the red "CLIP" LEDs (35): LEFT for the left channel and RIGHT for the right channel. In case of an overload, turn back the control (33) correspondingly. CAUTION! Even if several jacks are provided for connecting the speakers, only one 4 Ω speaker resp. two 8 Ω speakers must be connected per channel. Otherwise, the power amplifier will be damaged. 3) The total volume of the stereo signal master can be adjusted with the left and right master control (21). For the level adjustment of the connected units adjust the master controls to approx. 2/3 of the maximum (position U). If the PFL button (18) is Pin connections for the Speakon jacks: Pin 1+ = speaker + Pin 1- = speaker ground Pin 2+ and 2- are not connected. 7
