The PEM7
7D is a compact entry and approa
ach warning systtem
for use in shops, reception
n areas, private homes,
h
etc. The
device con
nsists of a transm
mitting and receiv
ving unit that
transmits an invisible, modulated beam of IR light across e.g.
e
a
c reflector mounted across from the
doorway, onto a prismatic
er. This reflects the
t
beam back to
o the receiver to
transmitte
complete the protection circuit. The beam is interrupted wh
hen a
person wa
alks through it, causing
c
the alarm
m to trigger and sound
s
an audible
e warning. The beam is produced
d by a LED, which
h has
a much grreater lifespan an
nd is less susceptible to surge and
vibration damage than a tungsten
t
filamentt lamp. The receiiver
is only sensitive to the frequency of the mo
odulated light in the
beam.
