Safety regulations for the use
and apply them carefully.
This model of gasoline tiller (GTIL-208) is intended
for tilling the superficial layer of the soil. It’s
particularly used for tilling small plots of land and
for horticultural gardening. They replace the work
traditionally done manually with spade and hoe.
Before starting work you should be familiar with the
controls and the correct use of this machine. Make
sure you know how to stop it in case of emergency.
Incorrect use of the machine could result in serious
injury or death and damage to property.
Always consider your safety and the safety of others
and act accordingly.
The following listed safety instructions should serve
you for the right use and for the protection of your
own safety. Therefore please read this very carefully.
When passing this device over to a third person,
these instructions must be handed out, too.
These instructions and the enclosed documentation
are an integral part of the machine and must
accompany it in the case of repair or resale. Carefully
keep the documentation supplied with the machine
close to hand for consultation in case of need.
Please, read and take note of the following
comments that regard your protection against risk
of injury and fire.
Equipment safety rules
Safety of the operator and bystanders is one of the
main concerns in designing and developing a tiller.
However, every accident occurs which could have
been avoided by a few moments of thought and a
more careful approach to handling equipment, You,
the operator, can avoid many accidents by observing
the following precautions and insist those working
with or for you adhere to them.
WARNING! Before using the machine, in
order to ensure that handling, initial
start-up, starting, use, stopping, and
maintenance are carried out properly, read the
instructions below that refer to the drawings and
technical data contained on the enclosed sheet,

above underground water lines, gas lines, electric
cables, or pipes. Do not operate the tiller in soil with
large rocks and foreign objects which can damage
the equipment.
• Read the instruction carefully. Be familiar with
the controls and the proper use of the equipment.
• Keep in mind that the operator or user is
responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to
other people or their property.
• Never work while people, especially children, or
pets are nearby
• In order to provide a better view, certain
illustrations in this manual may show an assembly
with a safety guard or shield removed. However,
equipment should never be operated in this
condition. Keep all guards and shields in place. If
guard or shield removal becomes necessary for
repairs, reinstall the guard or shield prior to use.
• Under no circumstances should children under
the age of 18 be allowed to work with or around this
equipment. Local regulations can restrict the age of
the operator.
• Do not allow anyone to operate or assemble
this equipment until they have read this manual
and have developed a thorough understanding of
the safety precautions and operation. Review safety
instructions with all users annually.
• This equipment is dangerous to children and
anyone unfamiliar with its operation. The operator
should be a responsible, properly qualified and
physically able person familiar with this equipment
and competent in this equipment’s operation.
• Do not modify the equipment in any way.
Unauthorized modifications could result in serious
injury or death and may impair the function and
shorten the life of the equipment.
• In addition to the design of the tiller, safety
decals and safety equipment, accident prevention
is dependent upon the awareness, common sense,
forethought, and proper training of everyone
involved in the operation, transport, maintenance,
and storage of the machine. Pay close attention to
the safety decals affixed to the rototiller.
WARNING! Handle fuel with care. Petrol
is highly flammable:
• store fuel in containers specifically designed
for this purpose
• refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while
refueling
• add fuel before starting the engine. Never
remove the cap of the fuel tank or add p e t r o l
while the engine is running or when the engine is
hot.
• if petrol is spilled, do not attempt to start the
engine but move the machine away from the
area of spillage and avoid creating any source of
ignition until petrol vapor have dissipated. Clean
up spilled fuel before restarting.
• replace all fuel tank and container caps
securely
• Replace faulty silencers
• Before using, always visually inspect to see that
the tools are not worn or damaged. Replace worn
or damaged elements and bolts in sets to preserve
balance
• Never attempt to make any adjustments while
the engine is running.
Operation safety rules
• Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from
rotating parts. Keep clear the tiller tines at all times.
• Pay attention to the right holding points which
allow the machine to be handled.
• Be extremely cautious when operating in reverse
and when pulling the machine towards you. Take
extra care to avoid slipping or falling and to keep
feet clear of tines.
• After striking a foreign object, stop the engine,
remove the wire from the spark plug, thoroughly
inspect the tiller for any damage, and repair the
damage before restarting and operating the tiller.
• Always be sure of your foot on slopes.
• For wheeled rotary machines, work across the
slopes, never up and down.
• Exercise extreme caution when changing
direction on slopes
• Do not work on excessively steep slopes
• Walk, never run with the machine
• The engine muffler will be hot from operation.
Do not touch it with bare skin or a severe burn will
result.
• If the unit should start to vibrate abnormally,
WARNING: The consumption of alcohol,
medication and drugs, plus states of
illness, fever and fatigue will affect your
ability to react. Do not use the machine in any of
these situations
Preparation safety
• While working, always wear substantial footwear
and long trousers. Do not operate the equipment
when barefoot or in sneakers, open shoes, or
sandals. Do not wear loose clothing that might get
caught in moving parts.
