8.2 Option D (output voltage monitoring)
The "D"-option is an electronic (detection) circuit with the possibility of automatically switching
the built-in transformer off if the output voltage falls below a set level.
This option is used with directly coupled ionisation rods, such as type SS. If a conducting
material falls on the ionisation points with this equipment, a spark can jump to the earthed
housing, giving a chance that the material to be discharged will catch fire.
This circuit is so set that the power unit is switched off with an output voltage drop of approx.
15 %.
After the tracing and curing of the cause of the spark-over, the power unit can be switched on
again by operating the "RESET"-button.
The detection circuit is provided with a relay that switches when the transformer is switched off.
This makes it possible to operate an alarm signal. This can be a lamp or a buzzer, for example.
The contact is a change-over contact.
Contact data: 8 A/250 V AC.
The contact of the detection circuit must be used for external signalling. The contact can be
switched in series or parallel, as desired.
The RESET can also be fitted externally. This must be done with a potential-free contact of a
switch or a PLC-contact, for example.
The maximum contact voltage is 12 V DC.
One switch on the detection circuit is sufficient for the external RESET.

- Feed the wiring through the gland and lay it as far as possible from the HS terminal block.
- Connect the wiring to the connector of the detection circuit.
