Installation manual "Provisioning files"
Installing provisioning profile
1. Connect your iPhone/iPod touch to your computer and let iTunes sync;
2. Drag the provisioning profile file, filename ends with .mobileprovision, to the iTunes icon
on the Dock, the provisioining profile file should come with the application;
3. Go to iTunes, select your iPhone/iPod touch, and click Sync;
4. Confirm that the provisioning profile is on your iPhone/iPod
touch. On the iPhone/iPod touch, go to Home screen>Settings icon->General->Profiles (at the bottom of the page
above Reset), confirm you have the new profile in your
Profiles list;
Inspecting provisioning profiles
On the iPhone you can see the provisioning profiles installed on the
device by going to Settings -> General -> Profile. (Is it the same on a
Touch?) You can have more than one provisioning profile active on
your device. You can also remove a profile whenever you feel like it.
Installing apps
To install a new version of an app that I have created you will download a .zip archive file which
contains the application, then drag the application into iTunes, and then sync your device with
iTunes.
You will also have to have a valid provisioning profile installed on your device. The provisioning
profile must explicitly include your device in the list of (up to 100) devices allowed to run the app.
Here are the steps in detail:
1. The application is packed in a .zip archive, which may also contain a new provisioning
profile, as well as other files. These .zip files will be found in
Download the .zip file for the application (and version) that you wish to test.
2. Once the .zip file has been downloaded, double-click on it to unpack it, and then open the
folder it creates.

3. Add the application to iTunes by dragging just the application from that folder into iTunes,
into the "Library" group. The icon for the application has a circle with a slash on it, which
indicates that it cannot be run on your Mac, because it is built for different architecture.
(The iPhone has an ARM processor, while Mac computers use Intel or PowerPC
processors.)
------>
The "Library group" is the section in iTunes containing Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc... If
this is your first application, a new collection called "Applications" will be created. The
application you just dragged over will show up in this list.
4. Sync your iPhone or iPod touch to iTunes.
Warning! Be careful to use the computer that you normally use to sync with your device,
or you could wipe out all the apps already stored on your device, even the ones you
purchased from the iTunes Store. That would be bad.
Once the sync completes you should find the app on your device. Launch it and try it out. Enjoy!
