2 Installation
2.1 System requirements
Recommended PC requirements for the Amann BACnet/OPC Server

Windows NT with service Pack 5 (not , Windows 2000 or Windows XP
Note: Running BACnet over IP currently requires Windows XP
100 Mbytes of RAM is required for approximately 20,000 data points, the memory
requirement is dependent on the number data points in use.
Attention:
You must run BacOpc (or BACBrowse) at least once as administrator after
booting your computer!
2.2 Installation
Run Setup.exe from the distribution CD.
To check that the installation was successful and the Server was registered properly
• Run the “DCOMCNFG.exe” application (Start->Run->”DCOMCNFG”).
• Verify that the entry “Ammans OPCServer” is available under “DCOM Config” as shown in figure
2.2.1 (XP) or figure 2.2.2 (NT).
