With this product you can achieve a significant improvement in the range of use and operating with the catenary measuring instruments from the company Feinmess Dresden GmbH. © With the software FMcapture you can describe the height of catenary, the location to the track axis (sine or zigzag) and the catenary wear digital recording with up to three attributes (name can be chosen). © These attributes can be powered with external data series. The data transfer is done via a Bluetooth radio link. Optionally, the triggering of a measurement via a soft key from within the software is possible, a "blurring" is no longer possible and a more accurate measurement can be performed. The software FMcapture can be used by multiple users / projects separately. Furthermore a password protection is also available. You can use a desktop PC, a notebook or a tablet PC as hardware. You get the software FMcapture on CD / DVD, here you can find the setup with the following options: Install, Repair, and Remove. The user manual is also included on the disc. Please always run the setup options from this original disk and always store all updates as a backup. You will be informed about potential changes per e-mail-newsletter or you search for current © information and updates for the software FMcapture under „www.grote-software-systems.de“. You can assign all measurements to individual projects. The name and location of the data files can be chosen freely or use the default parameters. You can see all recorded data at a later date, change attributes, print data in different formats, delete individual data or you can export measurement data. Many choices, locations or information requests are user adjustable. Here, you can also rely on their own data files and templates. Note: Please configure your program under 4.8 Settings first! 12 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems The following menu items are available: 4.3 Data Recording Data Data Export Info Help Settings Exit Data Recording At Data Recording you can record measurements and annotate them with appropriate attributes. The specific measurement modes (catenary height, catenary position, distance to PLE (PoleLeadingEdge) and catenary wear out) can be used optional or separately. The connection to your catenary measuring instrument is shown in the status bar below, you will be informed about the used com-port, the serial number, the fitted Disto™ and about the connection type. You will be informed about the options during the measurement through the plain text display at the info bar in the middle of the window. In the top of the status bar you can see the data connection status with the catenary measuring instrument. The Softkey measurement is displayed. The "Remote Control On" is then displayed in red. A visual description shows you the fundamental function of the chosen mode as a help. You can use the predefined file path and file names or you change these settings with Save As in compliance with your wishes. 13 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems The predefined measurement file has got the following structure: FM 01 31 A 19 . fmd file extension (fmd = FMcaptureData) hours (1 to 24) index for number of measurement files per hour (A to Z) day month index for measurement mode: - FM… catenary measurement Now you can describe your measuring object. For this purpose there are up to three attribute fields available. You can set these on your own under Settings -> Attributes or you adopt the standard setting with object, location and note. Look at 4.8 Settings for that! Note: Minimum one attribute has to be contracted for continuing with the data recording. You can choose list entries or make entries directly with a dropdown-menu in all attribute fields. The source and dwelling time of list entries are freely configurable for every attribute field. Look at 4.8 Settings -> Data Recording and Attributes for that! Start the data recoding with Start after the input of one attribute. You can close the measurement file with Cancel at this point, with Previous you leave the data recording without creating a measurement file. After call of the function data recording the first data from the catenary measuring system are already read and shown (track gauge, catenary wire type and device temperature). After the first start the measurement file is set up and the first dataset is opened. You can use the correlated measurement modes now. Note: The measurement modes can be used total or separately for every dataset! An order is not relevant here. A navigation of the data collection for the current mode happens through the related softkeys. The available functions for the datasets are shown via the softkeys under the picture area. The resolution of the measurement via software happens through the softkey Measurement and the choice of options below. Basically you can run every single measurement per dataset as often as you like, only with softkey Save under the picture area the measured data is saved and matched to the definite dataset. After saving a dataset the program goes to the next dataset automatically, this is shown by a number counter. 14 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems 4.3.1 Measurement - Catenary height With the soft key Height you start the measurement of the height of the catenary. In the remote mode just one measurement is triggered, in the multi-mode it is measured as long as the softkey Measurement is activated again. Without the option of the remote operation, you have to make the actual measurement and data transmission at the catenary measuring system. The measurement of the inclination shows the banked track axis (camber). Note: If the option tilt correction under Settings is selected, an angle icon appears next to the measured value. The measured value is corrected in relation to the slope of the transverse axis and is saved. With the softkey Save you stop the measurement of the catenary height and insert the data into the data buffer of the software. You can now perform the measurements in the other measurement modes. You can take a new measurement of the catenary height at any time, before you save the record. Now you can, even if no further measurement mode has been used, save the record finally yet and jump automatically to the next record. This process cannot be cancelled! 15 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems 4.3.2 Measurement - Catenary position With the softkey Position you start the measurement of the catenary position. With the softkey Save you stop the measurement of the catenary position and insert the data into the data buffer of the software. You can now perform the measurements in the other measurement modes. You can take a new measurement of the catenary height at any time, before you save the record. Now you can, even if no further measurement mode has been used, save the record finally yet and jump automatically to the next record. This process cannot be cancelled! 16 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems 4.3.3 Measurement - Distance to PLE (PoleLeadingEdge) With the softkey PLE you start the measurement of the distance of the catenary / track axle to the fattening front edge of the catenary pole. In this case, depending on the option selected in Settings, the distance from the catenary position or the track center to the front edge of the catenary pole is measured (in the target direction of the laser). For the opposite catenary the catenary measuring system has to be rotated by 180 °. With the softkey Save you stop the measurement of the distance PLE and insert the data into the data buffer of the software. You can now perform the measurements in the other measurement modes. You can take a new measurement of the catenary height at any time, before you save the record. Now you can, even if no further measurement mode has been used, save the record finally yet and jump automatically to the next record. This process cannot be cancelled! 17 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems 4.3.4 Measurement - Catenary wear out In the measurement of the catenary wear out the following procedure is carried out: With the catenary measuring systems, the distance between the left edge and the right edge of the tendon is measured at the bottom of the contact wire. Out of this the wear out is computed as a measurement value and a percentage value is investigated according to the set catenary type. The distance of the catenary measuring systems to the catenary is not directly relevant (minimum distances must be observed, however, according to the manufacturer description). You can use the catenary measuring systems from the track level. It is also possible to use the catenary measuring systems mounted on a service vehicle (tower wagons, manlift, ...). Note: The accuracy of the catenary measuring system has to be adjusted here at "0.0 inch"! With the softkey Wear out you start the measurement of the catenary wear out. First the left tendon edge is measured. You can make the laser-pointer visual via the softkey Marker On/ Off to find the exact position of the tendon on the left edge. In the remote mode just one measurement is triggered, in the multi-mode it is measured as long as the softkey Measurement is activated again. Without the option of the remote operation, you have to make the actual measurement and data transmission at the catenary measuring system. With the softkey Tendon left you save this value into the data buffer of the software. 18 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems At second, the right tendon edge is measured with the softkey Tendon right. With the softkey Tendon right you save this value into the data buffer of the software. Now the catenary wear out is calculated and the values are displayed accordingly. With the softkey Save you stop the measurement of the catenary wear out and insert the data into the data buffer of the software. Now you can perform the measurements in the other measurement modes. You can take a new measurement of the catenary height at any time, before you save the record. Now you can, even if no further measurement mode has been used, save the record finally yet and jump automatically to the next record. This process cannot be cancelled! After saving the record you can enter the attributes for the next record and to start the next measurement. The steps 4.3.1 to 4.3.4 can now be repeated continuously. With Close you close and save the current Data file. The next data file can now be created. With Back the current data file is saved and Data Record will be closed. 19 Version 3.0.12.1 03/31/2013 Grote Software Systems 4.4 Data The menu Data allows you to select data from a data file to view, change or delete data attributes.
