Installation and configuration for XDS Plus You may set up the printer discovery file from within XDS Plus after installation. Refer to “Setting up the printer discovery (printer.disc) file,” in this document for the procedure. The 98/ME Pre-Installation Summary window is displayed. NOTE: The printer registration file is shared by both the XDS application and the XDS Command Line. 16. On the Install Complete window, select the [View ReadMe] check box if you want to open the ReadMe file, then select [Done]. You are returned to the XPPS installation menu. 17. Select another item to install, or select [Exit] to exit the installation program, and reboot your system 18. Specify the printers that you will use with XDS Plus, using the XDS Printer Registration tool to edit the printer discovery file. Refer to “Setting up the printer discovery (printer.disc) file,” later in this chapter, for the procedure. 19. The first time you run XDS Plus, enter the path of the printer discovery file. Select [XDS Plus: Options: Preferences] in the Printers tab, and enter the directory path of the printer registration file. NOTE: What was previously known as the Seed File, is now the Printer Discovery File Location. Installing XDS Plus on Windows NT, 2000, and XP systems This section details the installation instructions for the Xerox Document Submission Plus (XDS Plus) software in order to submit jobs to Xerox printers from a Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP workstation. Follow these steps to install the XDS Plus software, the Xerox Job Ticket Converter tool, XDS Command Line, and the XDS Printer Registration tool on Windows NT, 2000, or XP. NOTE: In order for XDS Plus to communicate with the DocuSP controller, the IPP Gateway on the controller must be installed and configured.
