Some cable TV companiesoffer "premiumpay channels".Since the signals of these premium pay channelsare scrambled, a cable TV converter/descramblerisgenerallyprovidedto thesubscriberbythe cableTV company. This converter/descrambleris necessary for normalviewing of the scrambledchannels.For more specific instructionson installing cable TV, consultyour cableTV company.One possible method of utilizing the converter/descramblerprovided by your cable TV companyis explainedbelow.Pleasenote:An RF switchprovidedwith two inputs (Aand B)is required(notsupplied). ANTENNAS Theantennarequirementsfor good colortelevisionreceptionare moreimportantthan those for black & white televisionreception.For this reason,a good qualityoutdoorantennais stronglyrecommended. Thefollowingis a briefexplanationof the typeof connectionsthat are providedwith the variousantennasystems. 1.A 75-ohmsystem is generallya round cablewith F-type connectorthat can easily be attachedto a terminalwithouttools (notsupplied). 2. The extended use of fixed image program material cancause a permanent "shadow image" on the LCD panel. This background image is viewable on normal programs in the form of a stationary fixed image. This type of irreversible LCD panel deterioration can be limited by observing the following steps: A. Reduce the brightness/contrast setting to a minimum viewing level. B. Note: For devices other than a TV, DVD, or Cable Box, use the AUX key. 3 Press and hold the SET button (top-left button) until you see the LED blink once, followed by two short blinks. Release the SET button after you see the two short LED blinks. 4 Enter the 5-digit code from the code table for the device you want to control. The LED blinks once each time you press a numbered button. After you enter the last digit: a) If the code you entered is the correct code for your device, you will see the LED blink twice. Go to step 5. b) If the code you entered is not the correct code for your device, you will see the LED blink once. Repeat steps 2-4, this time choosing the next code in the list. 5 Press the Power button (top right-side button) on the remote and your device power should turn on.
