How It Works Simply plug in the IR-Extender mini-photo plug into the port marked "Remote" on your Gefen unit, power cycle your Gefen unit, and then control the Gefen unit by pointing your IR Remote at the new IR eye, which is now located at the end of the 6-foot extension cable instead of the built-in IR eye in the metal box. You can now locate the Gefen chassis anywhere you choose, as long as the extended IR eye is directly visible to your IR Remote across the room.
