Rope Access
Rope access is the means of accessing difficult
areas or areas normally inaccessible
by conventional means.
It involves suspending a person to their point
of work by the use of a personal
positioning system.
The worker requires a high degree
of competence and must undertake suitable
training to ensure the task is carried out safely.
The Miller-Troll* brand provide technical
harnesses and hardware to perform
in all environments and are ideally suited
to the vertical world of Industrial Rope Access.
The list below provides the basic personal
protective equipment required for an operator
to work in this environment.
Depending on the duration of the suspension
period, it is essential to choose an adaptable
harness: a harness featuring a rigid seat may
be a better and safer solution.

ProALLP Tech Descender
This new full body harness
for rope access and rescue
combines excellent suspension
comfort with freedom of
movement and increased
productivity. The new triangular
suspension position distributes
the loads from the attachment
points to the larger muscle
groups to minimise discomfort
and suspension trauma.
An additional webbing sling
positions the ascender tight
against the chest to facilitate
ascension.
This screw and auto-lock controlled-rate manual
descender provides the perfect tool for a controlled
descent and positioning on the main line.

access operator e.g. Hand ascender and other rope locks,
or to position an operator onto a workstation via eyebolts,
allowing a more comfortable position, the rope grab
