This class will prepare you to work in a number of healthcare
settings, such as physician’s offices, and other care centers, as a
medical coder. In healthcare, there is a numerical code assigned
to every medical procedure and diagnosis. Students will learn
the fundamentals of medical coding (CPT®, HCPCS, ICD-9-CM
and ICD-10-CM) and dissect medical notes and charts to extract
the most relevant information. We use the American Academy of
Professional Coders (AAPC®) curriculum that is designed specifically by health care professionals and instructors.
