Architecture
The array must have enterprise software that will enable online expansion
of storage capacity with no downtime or disruption to application, automatic
load balancing, clustering, multi-path Input / Output, failover, storage
Virtualization and boot from SAN.

Storage must be easily upgraded with little or no downtime needed to
upgrade Firmware or replace Field Replaceable Units.
The performance must scale as additional disks are added. We do not want
to be restricted by the controllers and network connections as we add
capacity
Storage must support Windows, Linux, Unix, Solaris, AIX, HPUX, UAX and
other industry standard operating systems including multipathing and load
Balancing software.
Storage must be presented as a single architecture that can grow on
demand
without interruption. Scalability upto 90TB required for future.
Storage must allow multiple generations of hardware procured over time to
work on the same volumes at the same time.
SAN
Functionality
Storage must have a shared architecture that provides load balancing
across
multiple controllers and caches on the same volume at the same time
Storage should have the ability to clone a snapshot volume.
Storage should have the ability to do an instant restore from a snapshot.
Each Controller should have 2 iSCSI port/ 2 FC host ports
Dual Redundant Controller. 2GB cache per controller or higher
At least 32 x 600GB SAS 15k RPM SAS Drives , Supporting RAID level 0,1,
5, 6, RAID 10) with Hot Spare. Useable after RAID 5 at least 14TB with 4 hot
spare drives.
OR
Tier 1 - 10TB Raw Storage using 4Gbps FC 15K RPM Disk or 6Gbps SAS 2.0
15K RPM
Tier 2 - 14 TB Raw Storage using 4Gbps SATA 7.2K RPM Disk or 6Gbps
Near Line SAS 7.2K RPM Disk
Support for replication in future.
Online RAID level Migration software must be included
Online Volume migration from SAS to FC or Vice Versa.
