Their use as a material for load bearing structures is therefore, to date, regulated through national approvals or by European Technical Approval (ETA). The approvals contain and describe the requirements which must be imposed to the product and its production from the materials used, as well as the indications for use, dimensioning and necessary verifications. In case of European approvals there are also indications concerning the marking CE. The standard EN 16351: 2013 has been submitted to CEN members for validation and it will lead to the emergence of an EN code. A subcommittee of experts within the commission CEN TC250 is working, currently, on the integration of the X-Lam material in the UNI-EN 16
