2.3.2.5 Reading an Input Channel Read the most recent input state for digital channel 0 by reading one register from the zero-based Modbus address 0 (0x0000). If your system uses one-based addressing, the address is 1 (0x0001) Use either the Modbus Read Coils (function code 1) or the Read Discrete Inputs (function code 2) command to perform the read.
