6. SNMP Management
This section describes how to configure and manage the chassis by accessing
the Management Information Base (MIB) objects with the SNMP protocol.
SNMP Management
The chassis’ MIB options are accessible through SNMP. Instead of defining a
large set of commands, SNMP performs all operations using the “GET”,
“GETNEXT”, and “SET” commands. The SNMP agent that resides in the
chassis can respond to MIB-related queries being sent by the network
management software.
The SNMP agent gathers data from the MIB, which keeps information about
device parameters and network data. The agent can send traps, or notification
of certain events, to the manager.

The SNMP manager uses information in the MIB to perform the operations
described below:
