User manual Version 12.0, October 2014 T/HIS APPENDIX I - Windows File Associations I.1 WINDOWS (PC’s) Under Windows on PC it is possible to set up file associations so that double clicking on files with the .thf, .xtf, .cur and .bdf extension opens them automatically in T/HIS. All of these settings are optional: you should be aware that under the Windows operating system associating a filetype (via its extension) with an application is convenient, but can also be restricting and hard to undo. I.1.1 To make .thf files open in T/HIS by double-clicking on them If no application is currently associated with .thf files, a "double-click" won’t work, and some non-specific, usually "windows", icon will be displayed with the file. Right click on any .thf file, and select properties and then press the Change... tab next to Opens with: from the popup menu. 1. 2. 3. 4. This will bring up the "Open with" panel. Ensure the Always use... box is ticked Use the directory browsing window to find the correct T/HIS executable. You are looking for file this11.exe or this11_x64.exe. Select the executable and click on OK to close the "Open With" window. T/HIS should now open and read in the selected file and you should now find that: Page I.1
