The EPSON SR-600 makes sure

With the SR-600, EPSON has added yet another highlight to its
range of POS terminals. The new touch-screen terminal was specially developed for the hospitality industry as well as for specialist
retailers. Its high level of functionality, open architecture and extremely attractive design all make the SR-600 the ideal host.
As we all know, in restaurants, bars and cafés the customer is always treated like royalty– sensitive POS hardware, on the other
hand, is faced with somewhat inhospitable conditions in this field.
For high-tech equipment, cake crumbs, coffee, beer or grease
splashes can be like sand in the works. Now that’s all a thing of the
past! Damp or greasy hands are no longer a problem, either. The
new SR-600 touch-screen terminal from EPSON is resistant to
splashes of fat and water and really easy to clean as the housing is
smooth and has no “dirt traps“. This makes the SR-600 the ideal
solution for all restaurants, bars and fast-food chains.

Flexibility and state-of-the-art technology
The open architecture of the SR-600 enables the user to tailor his
POS solution to his individual needs. POS printer, customer display
and magnetic strip reader are just some of the extra options available for the SR-600.
There are no limits to the various combinations possible. The USBperipheral equipment can be hooked up quite simply without any
problem according to the plug&play principle. Concealed cable
connections literally make unsightly jumbles of cable or the accidental pulling-out of plugs a thing of the past. A clear, tidy impression is guaranteed. Yet that is by no means all the SR-600 has to
offer. Behind its lockable front panel, it conceals all the technical
prerequisites for the following components to be installed: CD-ROM
drive, hard disc or CompactFlash™ board. The hinged main unit,
comprising monitor and computer, enables fast, simple access to
the main board and hard disc. The high-speed Intel processor and
large memory capacity ensure speedy transfer of data and spare
customers unnecessary waiting time. An intelligent powermanagement system reduces energy consumption to a minimum
and lowers costs. On top of all this, the SR-600 is compatible with
the very latest software applications and thus represents the perfect
platform for superior POS applications. Existing applications based
on DOS are naturally also compatible.

Apart from its great functionality, the SR-600 is also a “delicious
morsel“ to look at. Thanks to its flat design and minimal use of
space, the elegant, anthracite-coloured SR-600 looks really small
on top of the counter and thus poses no obstacle to communication
with customers. It is space-saving but loses nothing in terms of user
convenience. The 12.1“ LCD monitor with touch panel functions
guarantees the user uncomplicated and convenient operation–
because clarity and a simple menu mode are something you can
expect from the SR-600. The operating panels for the respective

tion, it is possible to render photos or symbols so as to make operation even easier. This is particularly useful where staff changes
frequently arise. All POS functions are quick and easy to perform–
even for “non-chefs de cuisine“ in matters of cash register operation. Costly staff training sessions and lengthy training times become
superfluous. Thanks to the brilliant resolution of 800x600 pixels with
260,000 colours, everything appears on the monitor in needle-sharp
quality. The device also includes a 2 x 20 character customer display, which eliminates the need for additional space, and minimises
the footprint of the unit.

The diverse range of functions and optional extras make it possible
to tailor the SR-600 to the individual needs of any user. The elegant

On-site service into the bargain
For an entire year, on-site service is included in the purchase price
of the SR-600 as well as the other cash register systems IR-320
and MR-800. Qualified technicians replace, wherever possible, any
defective components right where the cash register is installed, thus
ensuring quick resumption of smooth operation at the check-out
and keeping turnover losses to a minimum. For those wishing longer-lasting dependability, there is also the option of extending the
on-site service to three or more years.
The adjustable TFT touch-screen ensures
ease of use
Meanwhile, there are a large number of software programmes,
which have been designed for use with the IR and cover all important business needs from general merchandising solutions to
branch related applications.
