There are two ways to do this: 1. Cycle power to the Præcis Cntp. 2. Issue the shutdown with re-boot command at the shell prompt: Praecis Cntp-> shutdown –r now If you are using the RS-232 serial I/O port to communicate with the Præcis Cntp, you will be able to see the kernel generated boot messages when the unit re-boots. You should note the line Configuring eth0 as 192.168.1.245... if you have set up a static IP address, or this line Attempting to configure eth0 by contacting a DHCP server... if you are using DHCP. It appears near the end of the kernel generated boot messages. If you are using DHCP and are not using the RS-232 serial I/O port, you will have to check the DHCP configuration information maintained by your DHCP server to determine the expected IP address and log in to the Præcis Cntp using telnet or ssh to verify successful DHCP configuration. Refer to the subsequent topics in this section Using Telnet and Using SSH, for details on logging in to the Præcis Cntp that way. Once you have logged in, you may perform the following checks.
