Appendix B - Apache , PHP ,MySQL And
PhpMyadmin installation
Installing Apache2
Entering a simple c o m m a n d in the Terminal will start the installation process. F o l l o w
the steps b e l o w to install Apache2.
1. Navigate to Applications> Accessories > Terminal to fire up the terminal
window.
2.
Enter the following c o m m a n d to start the installation:
sudo apt-get install apache2
Enter the password and hit Enter.
3.
Once the installation is completed, close the Terminal w i n d o w . Open w e b
browser and enter the f o l l o w i n g U R L to test if the installation is successful:
http://localhost/
If successful, see the Apache2 placeholder page. (Image b e l o w )
It works!

Installing PHP5
