INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR SET #5.1108 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 It is recommended that if you are unfamiliar with this type of work that you refer to a qualified service center specializing in this type of work. It is also recommended that if you choose to do this work yourself that a factory service manual be obtained for the proper procedures pertaining to removal, replacement and proper torque specifications for your vehicle. Mustache Bar Bushings: With the car raised and supported on the frame. Remove the three bolts from the center of the mustache bar. Also, remove the two bolts on the ends of the bar. Now remove the subframe bolts and lower the subframe enough to allow clearance to remove the mustache bar. Using a press, use two sleeves (pressing sleeve O.D. Smaller than 2.360”, receiving sleeve I.D. Bigger than 2.360”). Remove the mustache bar bushings. Install Energy Suspension bushings and sleeves per below picture. No grease needed, reinstall mustache bar and tighten all bolts. Differential Carrier Bushings: With the mustache bar and subframe secure, take off one diff carrier bracket. ONLY DO ONE AT A TIME! This provides support for the differential. Remove one bracket. Using a press, remove the bushing. This time, use two sleeves (pressing sleeve O.D. Smaller than 1.760”, receiving sleeve I.D. Bigger than 1.760”) Install Energy Suspension bushings, sleeves and washers per diagram below. No grease needed. The bushing with big flange #2560 goes on the bottom with the thin washer # 15.03.16.39. Install bracket and all bolts but do not tighten yet, wait until other side is done and then tighten all bolts to factory specifications.
