7.4.3 Upper-Guide Optics Assembly Breakdown
This section provides the instructions to disassemble the Upper-Guide Optics Assembly.
Prior to performing this procedure, the Upper-Guide Optics Assembly should be separated from the Upper-Guide Housing Assembly (refer to Subsection 7.4.2.1).
WARNINGS:
STOP

AVOID PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR SEVERE DAMAGE TO
THE VALIDATOR. DISCONNECT POWER SUPPLY BEFORE
CLEANING OR PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON
VALIDATOR.
2.
REDUCE AND/OR PREVENT RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. DO
NOT CLEAN OR REPAIR VALIDATOR IN A DAMP OR WET
ENVIRONMENT.
3.
AVOID DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. DO NOT INTRODUCE
FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS OR GASES TO THE WORK AREA
WHEN CLEANING OR PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON
VALIDATOR.
CAUTION: DO NOT allow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) to damage
the validator’s electronic circuits; follow all industry-accepted ESDprevention procedures when replacing components.

The parts of the Upper-Guide Optics Assembly, which can be replaced, are:
•
Upper-Guide Array Assembly (refer to Subsection 7.4.3.1)
•
Lower-to-Upper Guide Cable Assembly (refer to Subsection 7.4.3.2)
•
Stacker Cable Assembly (refer to Subsection 7.4.3.3)
•
Simple Bezel Cable Assembly for G3V Units (refer to Subsection 7.4.3.4).
•
Animated Bezel Cable Assembly for FL4/FL6 Units (refer to Subsection 7.4.3.4).
To replace the faulty part(s), proceed to the applicable subsection and perform the
removal instructions.
