GP 4000 D (diesel engine) Open the tank cap . 5. Visually check the fuel level. 6. Check that the integrated diesel filter the tank opening. 7. If necessary, fill in diesel with a suitable funnel up to the maximum level of the red marking of the fuel level indicator on the integrated diesel filter . Take care that diesel does not overflow. 8. Close tank cap and tighten by hand. Take care not to overtighten the tank cap in order to avoid damage. If it penetrates the soil, this may result in contamination of ground water and hazardous substances entering the food chain. –– Do not fill in engine oil at loca tions where an oil spillage can enter the soil –– Use an appropriate means to completely capture and dispose of any engine oil which over flows according to the regulations. GP 4000 P (petrol engine) Fill in engine oil when the level is low. See maintenance manual for detailed information on how to check and fill in engine oil for the petrol engine. Fill in engine oil when the level is low. Only fill in engine oil which corresponds to the categories E-3, E-4, and E-5 of the ACEA standard. Maintain the following viscosity values for different outside temperatures: –– –– –– –– –– –– –– DEUTSCH Check the engine oil level before each start-up in order to avoid damage or engine failure. – 20 to + 10° C: SAE 10W, – 10 to + 10° C: SAE 20W, – 20 to + 30° C: SAE 10W30, – 15 to + 40° C: SAE 15W40, 0 to + 20° C: SAE 20, + 10 to + 30° C: SAE 30, – 20 to + 40° C: SAE 40. Proceed as follows to check and fill in oil: 1. Ensure that the machine is switched off. If necessary, allow the engine to cool down. 2. Position the machine so that the engine is in a vertical position (see Figure 28 “Fill in engine oil”) and secure the machine against falling over. 3. If necessary, clean oil cap the cap. and the area around 4. Unscrew and open oil cap . 5. Clean oil dipstick with a suitable cloth and then insert oil cap without screwing and remove again. 6. Read the oil level on dipstick . The oil level must be between the upper and lower lines on the stick. Fill in oil if the level is below the lower line. FRANÇAIS NOTE 29
