II ABSTRACT Abstract Through the tremendously fast development of the internet and the resultant information flood, many users feel overtaxed. Because humans are restricted in their receptivity of information, improvement in the representation of information is in question. The starting point is the thesis that the extension of the graphical user interface for the element of interactivity shall ensure an easier access to information. This diploma thesis deals with visualization and preparation of information. The main focus is based on graphically interactive layout elements, which shall enable a new kind of representation quality. For the analysis, current internet pages about manufactures of digital cameras are viewed. The properties of the cameras make graphical preparation of information possible and therefore interactive elements can be identified. A model based upon that experience, which classifies the interactive layout elements as objects and gives statements to their purpose, is searched. To complete the approach, further layout recommendations in terms of examples are conceived as well as an exemplary solution is programmed. The aim is to reach a concluding reflection on the basis of the model development, which gives a future probability on the significance of interactive layout elements in the whole information spectrum of the internet. Key words: visualization, information, interactivity, graphical user interface, digital camera
