Main Partiture Tim Medi e a Scal Standa rd e Spectrogra m Figure X. Screenshot showing all six views. Observe that the way the different windows or views are laid out may differ. When you first start Multitool only the “MainView” is shown (unless you have told Multitool to open the last-loaded project upon start, if so; many views might show up). The MainView is fundamentally different from the other views and it is the core of Multitool. If you close the MainView, you will exit Multitool completely, but if you close any of the other views, you just close that view. You could say that the other views are child views of the MainView and depend on it. There are also some dependencies among the child views themselves. For example; some views display certain aspects of the media such as the TimeScaleView and the SpectrogramView. If there is no media file associated with the project these views can’t function. In addition they can not function if the MediaView is closed. So if you want to use the TimeScaleView or the SpectrogramView you must have the MediaView open. Observe that it is possible to open these two views without having the MediaView open; it’s just that some of their features will be disabled.
